| Hey all, burndown29 from southern california here. I just stumbled across a thread about this game on Dakka, read a bit, and figured i would give it a try. downloaded the rulebook, read through it, and it reads surprisingly like mordheim. I freakin love mordheim reiklanders. just wanted to drop by and show my support for user created content, and say is a game im definitely going to introduce to my FLGS. anyone else around the palm springs area? I would happily drive a couple hours to get in a game or two of this awesome new game that i have decided to refer to as "teh m0$t awesomesauce game in the history of awesomesauce games" or "mordhammer 40k" for short. (please dont have me rubbed out GW! or mordheimer, for that matter.) keep up the good work guys, im really looking forward to the SMSS. stuck in san diego for a week, but when i find a game store out here im gonna start a guard squad. | |

| Welcome Burndown29!!! It is funny that, depending on your skirmish background, you see Death Squads as an adaptation (or inspired) by Mordheim or Necromunda. I always take that as a HUGE compliment, knowing how much I like those games and how much I always respect Toumas Piren (creator of Mordheim, who I was lucky enough to email for quite sometime.) When we designed we always had in mind the GREAT Campaign aspects... story telling and 'epic' aspects of 40k. We always read about those great personalities of 40k Armies... living legends. We all love to love/hate them and they inspire us to play 40k. Then, when we get the rules to play we get to SEE those wonderful characters in action. Then, when we are ready to create stories and heroes of our own, we are left with "just rename Special Character such and such". WTF?!? With you can make a true background of someone who would become a legendary personality in the galaxy. From my own perspective, I created The Albino... an albino 'intelligent' Ork (obviously an aberration!), his initial unstoppable climb to power, how he started uniting the Ork under the White WAAAGH! banner and how the Eldar managed to change history by stopping him (at great sacrifice to themselves.) I also created a story for The Eye Pokers, a Catachan Regiment, and how they were key players on a struggle for power between Nurgle and Tzeench. If I ever play an Ork or Catachan 40k Army, you bet your duppa that they will be The White WAAAGH! and The Eye Pokers... every Nob and Sgt will have a special model, with a rich background. Sure, the rules would be the same, but each game will be 100% better.... when I scream WAAAGH! or FOR THE EMPEROR! I will really mean it! Have fun with your friends at your FLGS... if you make a stable group and wish to help the project, be pending to the Staff Openings shortly after the release of all the Volumes of TLRB v0.6.0. Check and start meeting the requirements!!! Anyways... WELCOME! Hope you enjoy as much as we all do. Now... go get me some pictures of your models! HA! | |

| Welcome, The guard squads are a great place to start - any ideas on what you plan to build? Pics are cool (even of older stuff). You already seem to be addicted and the really cool thing is that you get to help drive the development of the game. Enjoy Cheers Laney | |

| Welcome to the group and as Mordheimer noted, a storyline for your squad adds a to the game. | |
