| Hey guys. As an Ork player in 40k, I found out about Death Squads when Mordheimer took the time to post about it on The Waaagh! forums. I was intrigued, and the creative philosophy is right in line with my current group Headwound Games. Currently we're working on a car combat game called Ballistic, but we've got some 40k fans and I bet we could contribute some art and gameplay ideas to Death Squads. Looking forward to working on it with you guys. | |

| WELCOME!!! It is an honor and pleasure to have you guys take a look at ... hopefully it becomes a nice distraction to your development! HA! Speaking about distractions... where could EVERYONE find the rules for Ballistic? If I may suggest... at it to your signature! I would see if I could pick 'em up... and test if I could teach to play my 4 year old boy.... he has TONS of cars & Monster Trucks.... HAHAHA!!!! Fell free to take Death Squads for a spin. This is YOUR game now... we want all feedback (good and bad), and those who play the game and want to help, could join the Staff and change for the better. See this post for details. I imagine you are busy, but if you have any suggestions/corrections/criticism/opinions.etc... please, let us know. So far, we LOVE the game... and I'm sure you will like it too! Thank you for your visit (and your kind comments on your page... I just read 'em)... I hope that you become an active addition to our community! Question... where are you from? | |

| Great to have new people on board. Looking forward to your contributions on the game. Not checked out Ballistic yet - but the concept sounds cool! Laney | |

| Glad to be here guys, you seem like a friendly and creative bunch. In answer to questions: - The rules for Ballistic can be found in the Blog section of Headwound Games on Deviantart, but to make it simple for you, they can be found right here. - I'm pretty sure we can find time to spend on , as I tend to get bored easily when working on just one thing. Hopefully I can switch back and forth. - I am from Northern California. Some things I might want to do with the rules: - While I was doing an initial skim, I got the thought of "How cool would it be if you could use your Squad as a command squad in 40K?". The conversion shouldn't be too complex. - Improve and clarify some aspects of the weapons (Ork weapons in particular), and add custom options to the weapons, possibly simplifying them in the process (A Choppa may be upgraded to a Big Choppa or a Chain Choppa, etc). Also, not sure why the Trash Kan was included, as the Killa Kans are piloted by grots and the Deff Dreads are piloted by orks... - Change the fonts. Neuropol has it's place, but it's more Cyberpunk than Grimdark. Just bugs me, you guys might want to put this to a vote. | |

| Thanks for the initial points. I like the 40k command squad idea, especially for the imperial guard squads/renegades - but some codexes don't support that conversion very well (any thoughts on how it could happen would be cool). Can you be more specific about the ork weapons that need clarifying? (maybe open a new thread for these). The intention with the trash kan (and the whole ork squad) is that is it the absolute dregs, led by a young ork nob with dreams of becoming the Ghazhkull Thraka. As such he only has the teef to buy the rubbish from young meks initial experiments - the trash kan is even worse than a killa kan (but on this scale still a formidable opponent) - think of it as the meks first attempt at a killa kan. On kustomising - this may come into play (in the very long run) if clanz (possibly on regional platoon IG lines) are developed. Laney | |

| Death squads is based on less than platoon level. Meaning, normally no command groups as purr guys are fighting or involved on a stealthy mission and etc.
Read most Imperial Guard 40k novels and you will see what I mean.
Death squads started being very conservative as once you ket in a dredd (ork type or human) then you have to keep letting more and more in from 40k.
Death Squads is not 40k, meaning we are a TRUE skirmish form of 40k.
Maybe Dreds and may make but it has nit been the time yet and drots in a can provide tons of fun.

| Thanks for the rules and the quick link!!! GREAT stuff! Ballistic looks like a fun game... I will need some time to read the rules. BTW... you guys have a forum? Would love to join and see what I can learn/share. OK... back to ... To comment on some of your points and suggestions. - While I was doing an initial skim, I got the thought of "How cool would it be if you could use your Squad as a command squad in 40K?". The conversion shouldn't be too complex. That is one of the functions of !!! How many times do we read in the Codex about this 'great' commander and given stats (sometimes they are , but we love 'em anyway) and when you want to make your own commander you are slapped with the famous "Use OUR Special Character X, just change the name!" GROT CRAP! After a , surviving Officers could be used on your 40k army (normal 40k stats) but your guy would have a GREAT background. If your gaming group allows, you could add some skills from but we have found that unnecessary. Well, in game fluff you could say that your Nob's Choppa was 'upgraded' to a Chain Choppa... in game mechanics, you have to pay for a new weapon... but you give the old one to someone else. It is part of the game balancing act. I suggest you read the Trash-Kan fluff. Basically, a Trash-Kan is a Mekboy's first attempt to create a war-machine. It is bad... unstable and unpredictable. As they 'graduate' and fine-tune their building skills, the Kill-Kans are born. Usually, they move on to Deff Dreads and later Stompas later on. The Trash-Kan is OUR solution to add a warmachine that is more powerful than a Nob (in some aspects) but MUCH less than a 'normal' ork Killa-Kan warmachine. If you have any ideas for clarification, please open a new thread (so we don't loose track of the idea) for each item... as Laney suggested. It does make a HUGE difference! - Change the fonts. Neuropol has it's place, but it's more Cyberpunk than Grimdark. Just bugs me, you guys might want to put this to a vote.If you have few suggestions, we are all ears! (new thread please!) | |
