Welcome and great to have you here. I look forward to reading your inpout on the game and some battlereports (with pictures of course Wink ), that is, if we find a way to help you with the weird pasword problem you are having. Thing is, there is no password... I downloaded the files a couple of hours ago and when I clicked the link the pdf files just opened in my browser, form where I could save them to my computer with the save button...

Therefore a couple of stupid questions from me to try and help you: do you have acrobat pdf reader and what browser are you using?

Welcome to the group!

To much work has been done to not have the work protected.

Why would you need the password anyway om the PDF?

HI! Welcome to the community. You do not nedd a password to open & read TLRB... you need one if you are trying to edit it. If you tried to open it with Adobe Pro, the software may have tried fo access the editing tools and thus you were prompts for a password. Use Acrobat Reader if you have any issues.

I'm using Nokia n900 and it's built in browser and pdf-reader so I guess thats the source of the problem. I'll try to work out a solution now that I know it's not supposed to be protected.

From what I undertand DS is kind of a kill team vs kill team type of a game. Maybe necromunda with 40k armies so I think I'll love it if you haven't screwed the rules too bad =). Also my nemesis likes these type of games so I have someone to play it with.

DS is a skirmish type game, probably in nature more like Mordheim than Necromunda. It's really become it's own thing by now and while we do endeavor to bring as much 40k flavor into the mix as possible, we only have squads that really fit the fluff and the game.

So don't expect one-on-one transitions from 40k into the game. We've adapted several 40k races for use into DS, where 'adapt' is the operative word. That's not to say they don't play like the races in question, because we make sure they do!

Welcome to DS! We really hope you enjoy your time here. Play some games and be sure to get back to us with any and all feedback you have. We read everything, promise!

The game works best over a long campaign, where you get to build your poor starting squad up into a force to be reckoned with. If there is anything you think we have 'screwed up' then definitely tell us. The feedback helps the game become stronger and its your game now (when you get the pdf sorted out). Just Kidding

Cheers Laney cheers

Well, Death Squads is, in my humble opinion, what Kill-Team should had been. It is what 40k skirmish should be. It is NOT Mordheim-in-Space... so do not expect to be looking for pieces of a meteorite on a ruined planet. It is NOT Necromunda-2nd-Edition; do not be expect to be confined to a Hive ruining with humans. Instead Death quads is designed from the ground up, using those systems as basis. If you love Mordheim or Necromunda, you will have only minor issues with Death Squads ... few things changed to make the system 'smarter'. The game puts the player in charge, imposing different alternatives and choices... always challenging the player into what to do.

The rules are designed to keep the Squads in check (balanced) throughout a long campaign. In our favor, we have been designing this for over too years from scratch, so we are past the point of "screwed the rules too bad". THE best part... if you find something that cold use an improvement, we are ALL ears! Everyone can give an informed opinion and change the game for the better.

Enjoy your game!

I'm from ylöjärvi(former kuru, in the middle of the forrest) but I usually play in tampere as there is not much of a scene here.

I browsed the pdfs quickly on my desk-o-puter as I tried to figure a solution to the pw problem. I tried about anything I could think about but with no effect. It seems that even if the files are set to read only the pdf reader in n900 asks for the pw. My roommate(a computer wiz) thinks it could be as simple as the n900s reader doesen't understand the special request to open a file as "read only" as no one bothered to code such a thing in it due to the lack of editing possibilities in the first place.
Crappy thing as I like to have all the rules in this thing as I have no printer and I play 60km away from home.
Is there any chance I could get a non protected version via email or something? I promise not to edit or distripute it.

Oh and please make rules for sisters of battle.

@ Hanska: You would be glad to hear that I will work on an eBook format that may help those with mobile devices (like phones, iPhones, iPads, etc.) Now that I have a NookColor! ( Twisted Evil ) I have more personal reason to do it quickly. HA!
