I'm looking forward to read about your adventures and see (PICTURES!!!) what you come up! If we can do anything to improve your experience, please let us know. Death Squads is YOUR game too!

Death Squads is YOUR game too! Thank you Mordheimer! Sure why not. Currently I am just building new Imperial guard army.. I've had before one guard army, two tau armies and space marine army but I've sold them. I've always been little bit more into modelling than playing. But now I am trying to build new Imperial guard army to play with. And I am soon at 500pts I think. It is taking forever becouse I like to convert everything and make modifications and scratchbuilds. But I'll get it done in some point. Then I can finally play my second game of fifth edition. And I'll try to post some pics at some point. Basicly I just learned about DS from Finlands biggest miniature forum. I had heard about skirmish game called World in arms and found rulebook to that game. So I just made new topic asking if anyone has played it and is it any good. Then one user told me that there was this game called Death squad and it is like newer version of World in arms just with new name so I navigated to this forum, registered and downloaded the new rules.

I take THAT as a compliment. As you could read on TLRB's preface, Death Squads is very different than World-in-Arms... but we do honor them as a true inspiration. You see, WiA is an adaptation to use Mordheim rules with 40k-based Warbands. While this works fine for some, we wanted to move away from that feeling of Mordheim-in-Space. We designed with Mordheim, Necromunda and Gorkamorka in mind... but as time have passed, Death Squads has become its own 'monster'. So, Death Squads is NOT "a new version of WiA with a new name"... but its own entity. Just like Death Squads is not Updated-Necromunda nor 40k-with-fewer-models. Anyhow... we are GLAD you are here!!!

| This is the 2nd time I have heard the WIA correlation. I believe it is because we have WIA in our introduction but as Mordheimer noted we are worlds apart from it.
Here is why.
This game was started by Mordheimer and I getting together to play a version of Space Hulk. I had been working on a Sci-Fi Concept for a while but never had the chance to put it in play.
After playing and being involved with Mordheim for years and being the Mordheim SG Answer Mod (Answer MOD Da Bank) I figured it wouldn't be that difficult to come up with something that is where GorkaMorka, Necromunda and Space Hulk left off.
I can tell you it has not been that easy as there are so many aspects that go into core rules, weapons, squads and etc.
After playing our first game back 2 years ago in August we played Imperial Guard versus Nids in Space Hulk tiles. The IG got tore up. Literally. We applied Mordheim rules with some home made ones.
After a few months of workign on Project "x" I came across WIA in my research. WIA is straight 40K stats and profiles and put into a skirmish game. Abliet they did do a great job of including all the 40K races, weapons and etc it is not the way a true skirmish game should go.

| Yeah I see now.. Thanks for clearing things up! But what I've been reading these DS rules so far it seems very nice and well made. All the effort and hard work you've put to this project really stands out from the books. Easy to approach and clear rules make it even better. If this is game is as fun to play as it sounds like I'll be supporting this project for sure. | |

It's great to see more Finns here. I've already lost the most northern member to Hanska atleast don't know where in Finland the other are located.

| @Daemonicus Never enough Finns here.. Btw where are you from? From somewhere near Helsinki? @Da Bank Well I just moved to a new city so I don't know yet much people from here. There are decent amount of gamers in here and I've been few times in local gaming club. But the main problem is that I am still studying and it takes a lot of time.. Got school from about 8am to 4pm and some days even to 5pm.. So not much time to go to gaming atm. :/ But luckily there will be soon opened another gaming club at the center of the city and it will be much closer to my house and it is also open at the weekends too. So things are pretty good here.. I just personally could use some more time for my hobby. And I got gaming group in another city where I moved from so when I visit there next time I am going to make them play this game with me. | |

I'm from Helsinki. The problem I is that I live in two cities at the same time, thu-sun in Helsinki. Most gaming clubs I've seen are mainly active on the week or early in the day.
