| Right the guys a have managed to play a game the outcome of this was that
A) we need equal numbers of players in games having an unequal amount just means someone stays back and snipes at everyone
B) Some players feel that heavy weapons are abit underpowered. we had a consistant case of a lasgun doing more damage than a grenade launcher and a wraithcannon. I know its a matter of chance with the dice but i am conveying the thoughts of the group.
c) Everyone needs a tester game before joining the campaign
So the outcome of the game is that the club campaign will not start for a while untill everyone has managed to get atleast one or two games in
A few suggestions about the heavy weapons were to make it easier to gain a critical hit ie a roll of 5+ instead of a 6 or perhaps to have a seperate critical hit chart for the heavy weapons
I will be running a game tomorrow so i will be putting up pictures and battle report sometime this week also may be able to get some video footage of the guys

| Hi.
You just need to try proper heavy weapons.
Wraithcannon is assault weapon. Potent one. Not heavy.
And grenade launcher is long range grenades delivery system: smoke, choke, blind and so on... frag ones and damaging enemy is just addition to strategic use of spec ones. | |

| Tendi's got it spot on as far as I can see with his assessment of these weapons. Plus some of the 'heavy' weapons in death squads were more like special weapons (to give squad flexibility) in 40k e.g. flamer, grenade launcher (go heavy stubber and give that a try!). Interesting idea on the heavy weapon crit chart - but it might be considered double dipping (they a generally harder hitting, with more shots already). Good observations - particularly the taster games. Laney | |
