Why Hasn’t Games Work shop come out with a NEW Ultra-Marines Codex? Why are they just thrown it there with the Space Marine Codex! The Ultra-Marines stand alone on their own! Back in the good ole days they use to have one! I use to own one; in fact that is what got me into 40 K! OK it was just a thought! Rifle

Hehehe... that is why they are called 'vanilla marines' or Smurfs... a shame, really.

I suppose GW needed to give a ruleset that all marine chapters that couldn't have codex could follow. I have a bigger issue with why they seem to be obsessed with space marines in general. The biggest example being the Grey Knights (and this is from someone who likes the Grey Knights) - where is my inquisition (a proper inquisition) codex? I mean not a 96 page pamphlet (they promote the page number like it's a good thing), but a proper book. For £17.50, I'm looking for 200 pages of great fluff, characters, multiple army builds that don't require you to use that one special character, the ability to build your own characters that are as good as the pre-made ones etc. Not to mention the lack of support for alien codexes (every other codex doesn't have to include Speys Mahreens!) - how about some genuine creativity and 'new' races?

Rogue trader back in the day was a somewhat mixed up rulebook (just have another look), but at least GW was actually a Games Workshop, what about some new boardgames, like grindhouse are producing, or fantasy flight, or cool skirmish games like malifaux?

Sorry - a little rant there.

Very Happy
