finally did some proper painting on my urban fighters. While I am no painting master like Laney or Komfritten, I am pretty pleased with the results.

Nice! Painted models for our games in december. I hope to be able to match you! Smile

You used some washes on the red parts, didn't you?

Very cool colour scheme - They are mechanicus associated right? I did some inquisitorial henchman in this very scheme (The have all been painted over now). Good use of tau parts to build the more difficult to model weapons, cool conversions (some subtle, others more obvious, but they all really add something) and I love the blue gloves on the medic!

My favourite part is the traps - cool use of bits and well painted.

Some kind of dark grey highlight on the black would really set off the cloth (same as you did on the red bits). A light drybrush will do the trick, but be 'dusty' - painting the highlights takes longer but is worth the effort. Alternatively, try a really dark blue or dark red as the highlight for a different effect - I'm going to go for very dark blue on a future SAS style squad I want to try.

Laney:D

I like the scheme... evil or not (hehehe) it REALLY works! Congratz... excellent models! I really love the red-black combo... it is very classy, but not out of place. The mix of highlight and washes for the red do the trick for me... BRAVO! I would agree with Laney that you should do the same for the black; highlight with dark grey (Fortress Grey?) and then wash black. Same effect as with the red. I would suggest a drybrush metal on the guns UNLESS that red-black scheme is what you are aiming for on the guns (they look good... but kindda 'new'). The faces are REALLY nice. My fav is the medic... he has a "OMFG... I'm screwed!" face. Heheheh

For the next batch of models, here is a simple hint for the base. After you paint it grey, paint the 'ground'... kindda like dirt. This way when you see 'between' the pebbles you don't see the same color as the side of the base. Also, you could put a black or brown wash over the pebbles. I know it is minor... but your models are THAT good!

Last, the traps. BRILLIANT! Thanks for sharing!

That color scheme is very striking. I especially like the traps. They will look great on the table and really add something. Good work.

OMG! that is a big stubber! Nice =)

Agree on the trousers - I would just drybrush grey, or bleached bone VERY lightly. Get the dusty look, and well - they are urban fighters right?

I'm gonna steal the idea on booby-traps - those are really cool!

Thanks for all the input. I'll try highlighting the cloth and the bases change on the next couple of guys, I'm not touching these guys (for paint) anymore. I've got enough to paint without non-stop tinkering with a small group Laughing

Please don't retouch these guys!

Once you paint the new ones, you will be able to compare them (we want side-by-side pics!!!) and see your own progress.

Maybe then you go insane (more)... Just Kidding
