PostSubject: Return to Melkor   Wed Nov 09, 2011 6:34 pm

Howdy everyone! I got lucky... VERY lucky. I recently moved to Elizabeth City (NC) and our friendly local game store (FLGS) is VERY friendly! Earth 383 has been SUPER accommodating. They are almost as excited as I am about starting to play Death Squads at the store. I have met with a nice fellow (John) who is a 40k veteran. We plan to start a short campaign so he can learn the game and I get to PLAY (finally!) Twisted Evil

Since I like creating and weaving stories (although not all of them good) about the games we play, I was allowed to select the 'topic' of the Campaign. I decided that it would be cool to go back where everything about Death Squads started. The Return to Melkor Campaign will be in the same setting as the original campaign (back in '08), which was the setting for the huge campaign on '09. I suggest you read the information on that Campaign LINK for some background.

The purpose of this thread is to give a background and compile the stories we create as we go along. Battle Reports, which include more on game mechanics and play by play, would be posted on the appropriate section. Hopefully I would be able to weave stories from the other Squads based on their reports. Without further due...

Return to Melkor

Campaign Prelude
Almost six weeks passed since Karameikos IV was returned to Imperial Compliance. The city of Melkor was under Imperial control and the Manofactoriums were at 86% operational capacity. Agents of the Mechanicum worked around the clock to speed repairs. Full production was expected to be achieved within six more weeks. The voices of those against the ruling class became silent and Arbites Detectives were sent to hunt down those who dared to speak against the government. Those who cried against injustice on the street now weep in the privacy of their souls. The Eldar proved to have too strong of a hand; rather than manipulating the fate of the planet, they out-right killed Ork Boss too early. The Albino had the humans in check and because of the drain of resources caused by the Green-Skins, the world was in the path of self-destruction. Instead, their actions tilted the balance of power in favor of the Imperium and the future of the planet continued to threaten their Craftworld very existence. The defeated Orks were reduced to isolated bickering factions which were then hunted merciless. They were in the path to extinction by the action of Imperial Forces. The task became so easy and mundane that the planetary Intelligence Reports were no longer read.

This is Astropath Transcendent Huda, stationed at Melkor. Multiple escorts of Mechanucum Magii have disappeared and non-coincidentally, multiple reports that Green Skin forces are commencing to amass under a single banner. Sightings of Xeno activities, as well as minimal captured evidence, indicate that the upcoming Ork leadership have taken to use the old war banner and glyphs used while Melkor suffered the interruption of service of all Manofactoriums for a period of 98 days.

This is the fourth request to dispatch an Imperial Force of ten thousand souls to act with extreme response against this Xenos thread. Small Squads may not resolve the infestation.

Your humble Servant under The Emperor's Light.

And so, the story of Karameikos IV, just like war, continues on...

Cool - can't wait for the campaign to start - I need to find a gaming club in the UK and actually play some games!

I noticed that the last campaign report had no pictures. You do realize that we expect pictures, right? Very Happy

HHahaha... Narcissus! If you mean the link on the text, that was the campaign summary. My Battle Reports look like this one, this one, this one and even this one.

Now that I have a cool camera, I expect to get better pictures. I promise I will do my best to take LOTS of pics! Wink
