I was just wondering, and apologies if this isn't the right thread, but has anyone ever organised a gathering of deathsquad players for a campaign/event weekend?

Not me. Sad The most I have done is organized a group for a large campaign... but that was some time ago.

It would always mean either the Americans or the Europeans have to travel a long way. It's not really feasible.

That said... DS gathering Europe sounds good. Wink

That would indeed be nice, it would be a good reason for me to finally finish my stuff! Just Kidding
Reason is not the right word, it would more work like a pressure for me to get my lazy ass back to work! Very Happy

I made basic 40k tournament rules and Mordheim campaign rules that could be adapted to Death Squads ... is on my plans. EXPECT THEM BY 3rd QUESTER OF 2087!! Thumbs Up

Seriously... if you want to work on them...

@ Mordheimer: If you made them "public" eg; put them on the forum, maybe *someone* would pick them up?

In marts I'm putting together some people to play DS at a convention in Denmark, It's gonna be pretty casual, but I intend on playing a darn lot of games. Probably all in poor Novac (hopefully the game table is done by then)

Thanks all! It was just an idea in my mind. A Europe gathering would be good, though still pricey...but yeah, something to think on. Thanks for the rules being put up @mordheimer!

Sparrow, theres obviously the problem of travel, the problem of getting a place to hold the event, funnding would be an issue, and finally you would need people who know the rules of by heart to watch over the event, but i still like the idea Smile

I recently attended the Blood Bowl World Cup in Amsterdam, and whilst that was pretty pricey it also consisted of 400-odd coaches / players. There are a lot of tournaments on the Blood Bowl scene throughout Europe and the main costs involved are travel and lodging. One way to assuage the latter is for the hosting group to offer their floorspace to the incoming players. In such a manner you can limit the costs of the expedition greatly.
For two days of gaming and two nights of socialising, assuming you fly in Friday night, it is well worth the cost. I would suppose for DSOut of Curiosity... organizing a DS Gathering 778760, as for Blood Bowl, it would be well worth the effort!
