PostSubject: Prisoner Exchange Event 2012: Rules & Sign up    Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:41 pm

NOTE: Due to an unsuspected Forum error (Arachas signed up!), the original thread was unaccessible.
This is a recreation of the thread. Sorry to all those who wanted to see their sign up names.

It's BAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaCK!!! Yes, back by popular demand...

Salute Death Squad's PRISONER EXCHANGE 2012! Salute

For those not familiar with Death Squad's Prisoner Exchange Event, you can check our 1st Event back in 2010. The Death Squad's Prisoner Exchange Event is a voluntary Event in which participants build and paint one model, send it to a randomly determined participant and receive a model from someone else! At the end, everyone gets one model from a fellow who also plays Death Squads, somewhere around the world! This is a FUN event... NOT a competition. Everyone works, everyone gets a PRICELESS AWARD!!! Pretty cool, ehh? Cool

The rules are simple...
  • All participants must be registered on the Death Squads Forum.
If you are not registered... you can't even see this post! HA! It means, members of your local club can ONLY participate if they are also registered in our forum!
This is about sharing! Take the best pics you have of your model's WiP... we love 'em! Then, when you receive your model
  • All participants must have a post of their Introduction on the Welcome Mat (including how they found out about Death Squads ) AND at least 5 (five) meaningful somewhere on the Forum.
If we don't know you... do we really want a model from you? This is a GREAT way to make friends. Any member that has been registered before January 1st, 2011 that has over 20 posts do not need to have an introduction on the Welcome Mat... but you shoudl! Just Kidding
  • All participants must have an updated profile, with at least an Avatar and a location where they leave (i.e. California, USA; Essex, England; Zagazig, Egypt, etc.)
It IS exciting to know where you could be sending your model to... and where you may get one from!
  • Participants will NEVER be required to post their mailing address (DON'T POST IT!). On the required time, the Organizer (Mordheimer) will PM you for that information via Private Message (PM). Once destinations are determined, he will PM every participant with the destination of their Prisoner.
  • This Event is open to ALL levels of hobbyists... be this your first model or you are a Golden Daemon 'regular'.
The point is to make the best model YOU can. Push your own limits. If you have never done highlights, painted eyes, rust metal, base other than grass... try them now!
  • The model you will make, shall be known as your Prisoner.
We got to name them something cool... better than just plain old model. Just Kidding
  • All participants must have the ability and will to take and post pictures of their Prisoner, as well as the one they receive.
This is about sharing! Take the best pics you have of your model's WiP... we love 'em! Then, when you receive your a Prisoner... make your builder proud by showing off what you got!
  • All participants will join by posting on this thread their nick, their location, favorite Squad.
WHAT? We want to know what YOU want to play... maybe the Prisoner you get could join your Squad!
  • All participants agreed to ship the Prisoner, no matter where in the world.
Yes, this means that YOU have to package and ship your Prisoner to someone else... SOMEWHERE around the world. It could get expensive. Be nice! Wink
  • All Prisoners must have a practical use in Death Squads.
So, no point in working out a Dragon... no dragons in Death Squads !
  • All models must fit on a standard 25mm base.
This means no large models, which have to be based on 40mm bases! Why? Costs mainly... it is not fair for someone with limited income AND lives in a remote area to send a large model (expensive shipping) while someone else sends a tiny model.
  • All participants must assemble (if applicable), convert (if applicable) and paint the Prisoner themselves.
Again... this is about YOU pushing YOURSELF! If you have never done converting... try it now! Ask how to work Green Stuff, how to pose, learn how to cut plastic. No tricking your buddies into doing your work... we all WANT your best effort!!!
  • All participants agree to do the very best work they can!
This is an honor system. You buy a model on eBay... great. But we rather exhibit a crappy looking 'my 1st time ever doing this' model from my FRIEND than an award winning looking 'bought from mass painters bussiness' model... any day.
  • Participants may make requests for particular models, but NO PARTICIPANT IS REQUIRED TO FULFILL THE REQUEST!
This means... you can ask for something (i.e. I would like an IG Medic), but you may not get it! Remember this is NOT about you getting a model... but about you MAKING a model.
  • Participants may start working on their Prisoner at any time, but everyone will get to know the name of the person they will send their Prisoner at the same time, via PM.
  • All Prisoners should have on the base the name of the artist accompanied by "P.E. 2012" to commemorate the event.
  • Participants will ship their model to their assigned destination on the assigned date (unless changed by popular demand.)
  • Participants will receive a Prisoner from someone OTHER than the person they will ship the model they paint.
We want people to exchange models around the world!!!
  • All participants are free to do whatever they think is good for their Prisoner.
If you think dipping is the way to go... dip away! There is no 'topic'... do whatever you like!
  • Absolutely, positively NO FLAMING another person's work! THIS WILL INCUR IN AUTOMATIC BAN FROM OUR COMMUNITY WITHOUT WARNING.
We are all adults (or at least we pretend to be, even when we play with tiny plastic soldiers), so if you do not like the model you receive... BE GRATEFUL! Understand that the meaning of this Event is not the models, but camaraderie and friendship! If you don't think you can be polite... do NOT participate! I catch anyone being a spoiled brat, I will ban you from the forums without warning.

Suggestions on rules are welcomed. Smile That's about it! If you want to participate, just make sure you meet the requirements and post! The participation will be open until May 31st, and then people have two weeks to get their model shipped! Remember... this is about getting to know each other, getting a few laughs and a nice model for your Squad... which would undoubtedly make you proud of being a member of the Death Squad community! Good luck... and have fun!

Participation will be open until: Monday, February 20th, 2012.
Prisoners shipping date: MONDAY, APRIL 30th, 2012!

Community Members agreeing to participate on the Prisoner Exchange Event:
  1. Mordheimer: North Carolina, USA.
Would Prefer: Anything... even Eldar. confused Although a Catachan would be nice... but I'm in an EVIL mood lately!

  2. Skavenslayer: Farum, Denmark.
Would Prefer: Cadian, Renegades, Chaos Cultits or Ork, but will be glad for anything Very Happy!
(Edit: Maby I should note, that I really dislike metal models, and dont think I would never use one it games.)

  3. Sparrow2z: Bedford, England.
Would Prefer: I'm happy to receive anything, though would like some model I could use as a bounty hunter (species not specific) type of character. Think, Enforcer, etc.

  4. dr!zzt: Krakow, Poland
    Would Prefer: {Not commented}

  5. Narcissus: Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Would Prefer: Any hired guns (preferably available for hire by evil squads!), orks, renegades, or chaos cultists.

  6. Laney: Colchester, Essex, England
Would Prefer: Surprise me - as long as it's death squads I'm happy!

  7. Daemonicus: Helsinki, Finland
Would Prefer: Inquisitor themed(radical or puritan doesn't matter), so something to go with Renegades or Lyubuv rules wise. This is what I'm currently making. I'm really open for anything that inspires you. I don't hate any faction. Models with personality is always nice. I'll build something around them.

  8. mudboy: Frederiksberg; Denmark

  9. Komfritten: Odense, Denmark
Would Prefer: IG, Orks, Kroots (or anything you want to throw at me)

  10. Lazi: Prague, Czech Republic
Would Prefer: Practically anything - if it does not fit in my squad, I can make a new one around it, right? Very Happy Although I am not much of a fan of Chaos - so less taint would be better

  11. Gatlag Stonetooth: Ridderkerk, the Netheands
Would Prefer: Renegades or else some "common" models like a garbage man, postman, butcher. Just normal humans which inhabit the worlds we play in.

  12. Lysander83: Leipzig, Germany
Would Prefer: A Hired Gun would be perfect, but you could send me everything you like to (if I don't play the squad, somebody in the Mytholon Store will be a very happy bastard ^^)

  13. Stryke: North Lanarkshire, Scotland
Would Prefer: Chaos cultists, or anything!

  14. Skeller: Richmond, Virginia, USA
Would Prefer: Any hired guns (preferably available for hire by evil squads!), orks, renegades, or chaos cultists, but I will be happy to get anything people want to send though.

  15. Colonel Prius: Amersfoort, the Netherlands
Would Prefer: Tau! (I know the squad isn't out yet, but soon Just Kidding ). But I also have a Guard squad which could use a new member, and I am slowly working on a tzeench chaos squad which is currently understaffed.

  16. DeafNala: 60 miles or so outside of Nowhere, Texas, USA
Would Prefer: Anything that's strange & imaginative & not a Space Marine or other form of Nazi. I do, however, like Goblins & Babes with or without machine guns.

  17. edward: Palmerston North, New Zealand
    Would Prefer: Anything

  18. balangaz: São Paulo, Brazil
Would Prefer: I just like to get something you think it's cool. Surprise me, preferably with something dark and corrupted.

  19. kainthedragoonx: Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Would Prefer: I'll take anything. I'll let my prisoner select my second Death Squad team!

  20. TheBlackKnight: Glasgow, Scotland
Would Prefer: I would quite like an eldar or kroot or ork looking like a catachan who I can have in my squad as a breakaway from his own squads. Alternatively, a hot blonde chick in camo gear with a massive heavy stubber!

  21. Lord GreyWolf: Te Aroha, New Zealand
Would Prefer: Something along the chaos IG, I am making a Chaos Teddy bear squad so something to fit them would be GREAT!!!

  22. dumdeedum: Bucks, England
Would prefer: Anything would be cool! Though a model which isn't one of the eldar would be nice

  23. Lydor: Roswell New Mexico, USA
    Would prefer: Kroot, Kroot, Kroot!

  24. Da Bank: Fort Myers, FL (USA)
Would prefer: Kroot, Tau or whatever you can do. Not picky.

  25. Kiwi: Palmerston North, New Zealand
    Would prefer: anything

  26. Arachas: The Netherlands
Would prefer: Hired Gun characters I can use with my IG squads (Sharshooter, Commissar, etc)
Objective markers: think captured prisoners or anything else you can come up with
And I still need boobytraps for my Urban Fighters

  27. Sultansean: Smithers, British Columbia (Canada)
Would prefer: Guards, marines, eldar or something else.
