This is a new Captain for the Praetorian/Mordian Regiment. He's still a WIP, but I'm pretty happy with how it's going so far... I decided to try a scheme that is similar (with a sci-fi twist) to the soldiers who fought at Rorke's Drift during the Zulu War. The star pattern on his shoulder is the Britannicus Cluster. As a Death Squads Captain I thought I'd give him plenty of bionics before I started!

The Captain is also an entry for the GW Hero Competition. All C and C welcome... (I may do a skaven one for the WHFB version of the competition)

A few other possible soldiers of the squad...

A few other pics - a fallen dark angel sorcerer...

Cheers Laney

Wow! You must be reading my mind. I just watched the original Zulu last weekend and I also want to put together a Praetorian/British 1800 Type Squad.

It will be after my Catachan project.

Check this out on ebay. I am thinking of buying a pack of these guys and mix with IG weapons and gear.

HAHAH! That made me laugh VERY hard... good times!

Your WiP is what I dream my finish works look like! By the Emperor's Segway... how do you come up with these things? AMAZING! The start insignia was the first thing I saw... it was mesmerizing. Love the idea of merging of the classic soldiers at the Zulu War with the 40kish mayhem. A stroke of genius!

The Fallen Dark Angel looks amazing too! You, my friend, are an inspiration! When I grow up, I want to be just like you! Just Kidding

Those praetorians look great - I'm probably going to convert cadians (it'll cost a lot less than trying to source praetorians and I can go for the stances I prefer).

Here is the finished article...

Also, another 'hero' I've converted - A rogue skaven Clan Mors warlord affiliated to Clan Skryre (I hope to have him painted in time for the competition too)...

Warlord Grrizvetch Wyrdtail

Cheers Laney
