PostSubject: Abhuman Cultists of Khorne   Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:25 am

Before the horus heresy came abhumans such as gor where allowed in the ranks of the Imperial Guard. My idea hinges on being able to grasp this concept.

Abhumans such as beastmen have always been easily swayed to the side of chaos. Even when they worshiped the Emporor they worshiped him as a god that needed them to kill in order for him to stay pleased with them. It was not a stretch for them to be at last touched by the hand of the real blood god himself.

Im considering doing a Chaos Cultists squad of rouge abhuman guardsmen lead by a Minotaur CSM. (might have to make him in terminator armor to look right)
The idea would be that these guardsmen where convinced by Khorne to steal the geneseed and where able to pay some mad scientist (rouge servitor or tech marine) to experiment with it till it started to work on abhumans.
After the hersey the beastmen openly started worshiping khorne and moving themselves closer to the Eye of Terror to join their brethren.

I will post up some concept stuff soon.
Let me know what you guys think.

based on this idea but will be better modeled.

Great idea. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I have seen some great conversions using catachans mixed with various beastman heads and bits.

I like this idea a lot, seen a few "space gors" and like them...

Is that Tau stealthsuit legs, (chaos) space marine bits with beastigor heads ??

Ma by make the cultists with tau legs and normal gor or ungor heads...

Cool, smart to use Tau stealthsuits legs so that you get the legs of a beastman!

Not mine. I grabbed them to kinda show what I was talking about.

When i do them they will be in the typical gold and red of Khorne.

I'd like to see if i can recreate this armor somehow. Id probably go ahead and make more of them for the whole squad of course.

I been trying to get him to let us use his stuff for a long time. Can't get him to answer me though Sad

Well got my bids in on some beastmen gor
see what we can get.

I found some bodies that I may use for some of the officers.

add arrows and extend the one in the middle and it's not far off.

I will probably scoop up a chaos terminator armor set off ebay for the leader. Since the head of most minotaur come out slightly to the front I think it will be easier to model the neck into the terminator armor than to mess with making him look squeezed into the normal CSM armor.

Thinking of using one of these heads.

Here are the bases I am planning on getting

Ace idea for a squad - are you using their standard legs to go with those bodies?

Legs from the gor bodies. Probably add upper leg plates. The lower plates would ruin the effect though I think.

I haven't decided on the Minotaur yet.

Is it Gor or Bestigor heads you got ??

The ones in the picture are Bestigos, normal gor heads / horns are a little smaller.

Looking forward to see what you cook up.

I got the gor's because I liked the bodies better. Also I won't have to worry about the horns hitting stuff.

I will be getting a few of the bestigor heads for the officers though.

Ok, it sounds like a good idea.

If I was gonna (when ??) make this I would use.

Officers: Stealth suit legs, (chaos) marines body (if they fit), arms and Bestigors heads.
Annilators (sp?): Stealth suit or Tau Firewarriors legs, bestigor bodys and arms, and Bestigors heads
Cultists: Stealth suit or Tau Firewarriors legs, gor body, arms and heads.
Heatshield Cultists (equipt w. clubs only): Tau Firewarrior legs, Ungor body, arms and head.

I might throw one of these guys in as cultist too Smile

Also trying to kit bash a Scalie would be cool too, As I have never seen one.

Id do a Zoat but it would never fit on a regular base unless I made it standing on rear legs and it would look stupid.

kromlech bodies and backpacks came in today.
it's going to take some creative attachment to get these to work right. The body is a little smaller than the beastmen ones. only slightly though. I hope it isn't plainly apparent when i put the arms on them. Also the bodies are one piece leg and chest all together.

I think i'm getting the bases next. Hopefully I can get some loose las guns and guard arms in soon. Then I can start mocking them up for positioning ect.

About out of green stuff too so I'll have to get that as well.
Anyone have any good video tutorials on green stuff?
