Just stumbled on the living manual as I was searching for a way to enjoy warhammer 40k on a budget.

I have a small Marines army but have played a total of 5 times due to other engagements. Can't say I know the rules since I played with a friend

I have also played Confrontation which was a skirmishy game by a french company, but that stopped producing minis and died.

I am thinking about starting a squad with Nids just because I love the minis.

I am 80 percent sure I will never play the actual game since I do not have minis, or the resources to put them together and paint them, or someone to play (although the Uni I work at has a community of gamers, so you never know) but I am pretty sure I will love this concept, always prefered small battles with depth Smile

Havent read a lot from the manual so I will probably do that, just wanted to say hi

Greek- Male-Lives in Lancaster UK that's probably it

Salute Welcome Brother AcheronWolven!!! Salute

Glad you find us! Our game is designed to do just that... enhance your 40k experience! I think you will like what you will see. Because of its smaller size, it is easier to be a little more cinematic and the stories are GREAT!

Confrontation was a GREAT game with even greater models. The problem they had was a financial one, they were dragging the financial disaster of the 1st & 2nd Editions. You needed a PhD in Quantum Physics to understand those rules. Many people were waiting for Ragnarok, the army version (larger) of Confrontation. We were shocked that they went under.

What you will find great about Death Squads is that it has a small foot-print to start. A single box of 'regular' troops (i.e. Cadians, Ork Boyz, etc.) will give you enough models to start. It is easier to assemble and paint 15 models than 150! Get with some friends, get some cheap models and enjoy YOUR game!

Hi AcheronWolven Welcome to Death Squads!

Confrontation had some of the best minis ever - it was a shame when it went under. I'm sure I remember hearing that someone was making the miniatures (the metals, not the rubbish plastics that were their downfall) again.

A cultists/sisters squad sounds cool!
