Before you watch, promise yourself you won't get tear-eyed...
I'm sure you failed that promise!

Oh man... I love technology. Who knows where this will go?
Reminds me of the "Blade Babe" we have in Holland. This girl, who misses both her lower legs, just won the 200 meter race at the Paralympics... on those running blades. Awesome.
Exoskeletons, here we come!

I never remember hearing the outcome, but IIRC there was some dispute about allowing the running blades in competition several years ago. Seems research suggested the blade actually transferred energy better than the human foot and might give an unfair advantage. If that's not bionics I don't know what is.

That was relating to Oscar Pistorius who was trying to run in the Olympics. I'm glad to say he runs in both now.
The trouble is making a valid comparison between blades and feet needs a huge sample size to get around the inherent validity issues. Jonnie Peacock who won the 100m (for TeamGB I might add! Woo Hoo!) has one blade - it would be interesting to see how he balances his leg and blade together.
It might be going even further off topic, but the Paralympics/Olympics this year was so inspiring.

Not safe for work
Spoiler:
I don't want to downplay his achievements and i don't think Katt Williams was either he was talking about inspiration here and how the world gets down on people.
