| My Ork Squad is going to have a swampy/bayou and voodoo theme to it. Making generous use of Malifaux bases for the Officers, and a more back-to-nature paint scheme. Meet da boyz: The top Ork, Klaw Daddy (Nob): His right-hand man, er, Ork, Doktor Hoodoo and Big Chief (Wyrdboy & Grot Battery): Loup Garu and Roux Garu, the `Ard Boy Brothers: The sneaky git with a shruken `ead for a club, Gator (Sneaky Boss): Gator's boys, Bubba and Spike with counts-as shootas (Kommandos): Lastly, Pigdok Peirre with his `slicey `ealing tool (Painboy): The Kommandos were my "test bed" for the color scheme I want to use; the Ork armies most commonly played in my area FLGSes are all dark green skin, rusty steel, black clothes and, of course, red paint. They look good, but I wanted to play up my Krewe's swampy home, semi-feral nature, and generally go for a more Snakebite look. Hence, the brighter hew for the skin (Camo Green, IIRC), more light to middle hew earth-tones for leather and wood, and (shockingly to some) very bright whites. In fact, I might just try to avoid those sterotypical Ork colors of red, yellow, blue, and black altogether! Sorry about some of the pics, I cannot seem to get some minis into focus. I have another six or so Boyz, a Big Shoota, and a Burna on the bench... but they were just plain assemblies, straight out of the box. Nothing worth sharing on the internet, and they won't be in my starting squad anyway. | |

| Its a WHFB Goblin Shaman from the hoary old days of the second or third edition of that game; Forest Goblins, I think, the top half of his staff is now my Wyrdboy's magic wand/beatin' stick.
I plan to paint him up like a Madri Gras Indian. | |

| His pose makes him a favorite of mine to... I'm not sure if he's just yelling an old fashioned "Waagh," castng some Mumbo Jumbo, or getting ready to upchuck some Spicy Gumbo... Plus, spider-squig topped beatin' stick. Spider-Squig! Spider-Squig Does whatever a Spider-Squig does... | |
