Eldar vs. Renegades Empty
PostSubject: Eldar vs. Renegades   Eldar vs. Renegades I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 06, 2009 12:00 pm

This is from a game previously played by jd3 and I way back in March. I worked hard on this battle report so I did not want it to go to waste, so here it is!!

So this is a battle report from our first game on Saturday March 7th. Unfortunitly I did not take enough notes to be able to post the battle report for the second one, as I was to intent on catching the slippery Eldar.

Without Further ado, here it is:

Deployment and Game Type:

We were playing a straight forward death match, winner is the one left standing after the smoke clears. I elected to take the table edge that provided excellent position for my new mortar, and promptly set up to take advantage of the cover. jd3 split his army into three groups and spread them out accordingly. We then rolled off for infiltrators which I won forcing him to deploy his exarch someplace where he wouldn't do anything. Here is what the table looked like.

Deployment to Turn 1
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_15

Turn 1
The grouping of Renegades moved forward with a burst of speed, trying to close the distance between them and the exarch. Boomer moves up to the top of a busted down building and deploys his brand new mortar.

All three groups of Eldar move forward with a terrifying burst of speed. The Exarch moves deeper into cover under a ruined building.

Turn 1 - Turn 2
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_16

Turn 2
The renegade group on the left pushes forward to support the blood crazed ogryn, who is hell bent on taking the exarch. The Enforcer Mutants direct the civilian rabble to the right to further support there dead eye leaders. Boomer stands up with his manaculors and starts looking for that multi-colored flash of fabric so he can land some High explosive rounds on there heads.

The Warlock and group push forward into cover so the snipers couldnt get a shot. The Eldar group on the left fly forward to try and support there exalted leader who foolishly put himself in danger. The exarch looks around and sees he has no cover between him and the rest of the Eldar group. Two snipers are waiting for him to make the foolish move out into the open, whilst another group of Renegades push in from his right to support that idiotic Ogryn who is standing out in the middle. "The best defense is a good offense", he thinks to himself. He leaps out of the window with a mighty warcry and charges straight into Ogryn, who was caught completly off guard, knocking a wound off of him. The Ogryn bashes back with his massive ripper gun, but the wound is saved in a bright flare of energy as the Exarchs lucky charm saves him.

Turn 2 - Turn 3
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_17

Turn 3
The civilian rabble continue to charge forwad, not quite sure where they are going, just knowing that if they don't stop the Enforcers will come crashind down on them. The Enforcers though, decide to move closer to the epic battle between the massive Ogryn and the Exarch, intent on just seeing who wins. Dozer also moves into some cover behind a wall to watch what happens. Doc Roe is not that far behind to patch up any wounds if the Ogryn survives. Disciple Tank takes the two Militiamen forward and spreads them out into cover to form a firing line across an open courtyard. Elias takes a potshot at the warlock who pokes his head up out of cover to see where the snipers are located. Elias just barely hits the lip of the block wall the warlock is hiding behind, forcing the warlock to dive back down behind cover. The Ogyrn is still trying to hit the Exarch, but both opponents managed to dive and weeve, missing with all there attacks!

The Eldar Pathfinder with a looted lasgun and scope, creeps up into the building adjacent and directs his eldar brother to cross the ailey between the buildings to as to flush out that sniper who took a shot at his exalted brother. The Eldar warriors on the left continue running forward, trying to get into position to put out covering fire across the courtyard. The exarch trys to plunge his chainsword deep into the Ogryns belly, but coming within range of the Ogryns massive fist. The Ogyrn grabs him around the chest, pinning his arms to his side and bashes him with the barrel of the massive Ripper Gun, splattering gore all around him.

Turn 3 - Turn 4
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_21

Turn 4
The civilian rabble continue to run forward, trying get into cover in a massive crater. The Enforcers, satisfied with the result of the close combat, move forward to help support the firing line that Disciple Tank had set up. Both snipers don't have any shots, but continue to scan the area trying to find the sneaky Eldar.

The warriors on the left continue to scramble fowards, into a vestibule of some kind, taking cover in the corners so the snipers across the block can't see them. Whilst the snipers were focused on the warriors, the warlock sneaks foward with his support to try and get some firing lanes set up to avenge his fallen leader. The eldar on the right sneaks forward to the corner of the building, and upon hearin movement above him, calls out the location of the sniper to this pathfinder brother he is set up in the adjacent building. Looking around the corner he sees the civilian rabble cowering in the shell hole looking in wide eyed fear back at him. Letting loose some shots he hits a worker rabble dead square in the forhead, dropping him back into the bottom of the crater. The pathfinder, upon finding the location of the hidden sniper, lets loose a volley of shots, but managed to hit nothing but the rim of the window.

Turn 4 - Turn 5
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_20

Turn 5
The rest of the rabble dive foward into cover with the other civilan, noticing there friend lying down in the bottom. The all decide it would be best to just stay hidden in the crater. The sniper in the corner of the building sneaks over to the window to try and see where the shots are coming from. He shoves his boltgun up and blast off a couple of rounds to try and get the Eldars head down. The firing line that was set up by Disciple Tank lets off a volley of fire, but hitting nothing.

The Eldar warriors decide that it would be best to try and run forward in a frontal attack and try and route the renegades hiding behind the cover. They run forward nimbly and blast off with there pistols and suriken catapults, knocking both Enforcers to the ground, but failing to seriously wound anyone. The pathfinder takes some more shots at the sniper in the window missing again. The Eldar at the corner fires blindly around it, hitting nothing.

Turn 5 - Turn 6
Eldar vs. Renegades Eldar_22

Turn 6
The civilians sitting in the crater decide that maybe the should something, becase they would NOT want to suffer the Enforcers wrath if they made it out of this one. So on the count of three they stand up and blast at full auto at the Eldar hiding around the corner, who is hit with only one bullet, wounding him in the eye.
Elias stands up and takes careful aim, waiting for the pathfinder to stick his head out. Out pops the Pathfinder, also lining up one Elias with his scope. Elias lets off a two-round burst, the first missing completly, the second mass-reactive shell hitting the scope dead end causing it to explode. The eldar drops from view as shrapnel from his scope perforates his Left eye. As DoZer is preparing to commence fire the Eldar dissapear in a flash, leaving the battlefield empty and deserted.

So there it is, the Eldar routing out of the game.

DWI: That is the beauty of Imperial Renegades! They can be used in a Campaign as Imperials who have gone rogue... or even as the initial stages of corruption to become a (future) Chaos force. These guys were more of the ladder... with couple of mutants!

For true "we have horns and tattoos that read Death to the Corpse Emperor" Chaos guys... be pending for the Chaos Cultists in current development!

DOZER: You should publish your write up... it was awesome! Very Happy

Eldar vs. Renegades Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eldar vs. Renegades   Eldar vs. Renegades I_icon_minitimeSat Oct 10, 2009 9:24 pm

If I must....... This was from our previous campaign. I had started on a backdrop story to my squad, but I never had the chance to finish it. So here it is!!

============================

As a long day fell to an end, Boreas walked his lonely path back to his ruined hab block as the fading warmth of the sun fell from the sky. He had spent the past couple of hours sitting at the local watering hole, listening to all the fat lazy frakkers talk about the war going on.

‘What a shit hole’ he says to himself as he steps through some shell craters. ‘I’ll show all those frakkers’ says Boreas as his stumbles on a busted Aquila statue laying in the middle of the street, as he rounds the corner to his hab. Boreas unlocks the door, walks in and shouts ‘Mom I’m home, what’s for dinner? Am I too late for the broadcast?’ ‘No my dear, you got home just in time. Unfortunately all I have for you are these protein bars that the nice soldier gave me when he came by earlier today. He has such a nice temperament considering he has augmented legs.’‘I hope that son of a grox gets his arms blown off.’ mutters Boreas under his breath. His mom sticks her head out from the kitchen and says “What’s that dear?” ‘Nothing Mom, I’m going to go listen to the broadcast’

Boreas sits down next to the vox and tunes into the local news broadcast, listening for any sign of the war on this cursed planet coming to an end. The only news on tonight was there were some sightings of some gretchins running around with toy guns that shot corks and flags with the noise BANG!! on them, purposely jumping out and scaring the good people of this town before running away cackling hysterically. The news then turned to the unfounded fear of more xenos on the planet before it gave away to static……

Quote :
……………………………………..’Good people of this town! Hear the word of what is true and JUST!!!! Do not believe the ramblings of these false Imperial servants! All they do is ruin this planet, destroy manufactoriums, and corrupt its people! Stand up and fight for what is yours!! Do not stand idly by and watch your life and the life of your children fall to ruin!! They take your food, they take your water. They STARVE this world, while they sit fat and warm in the rich hab blocks. Stand up and FIGHT, take part in bringing justice to these Imperial Dogs!!’............................

The vox speaker then fades to static again. ‘What was THAT?!?!’ said Boreas’s Mom as she stood in the doorway. ‘I think that was the Resistance, you have heard the stories about them.’ says Boreas, ‘It seems they have figured out a better way to spread there word.’ ‘What horrible people, do they not realize the Imperial Guard is here to save us from the foul xenos?’ said his Mom. ‘Well Mom, I think they have a point, all we have seen is ruin and destruction. There is almost no food, no water, nothing. I am tired of sitting idly by and watching this happen. I am going out and finding them’ says Boreas as he stands up and digs out his old PDF pack, and throws some provisions in it.

His mom sits there wide eyed as she watches him drag out a battered case with a faded Imperial Aquila stamped on the side. He pulls out a well used but perfectly cared for and greased Autogun. He then pulls out empty magazines and loads up 4, and sticks boxes of ammo in the pack also, with some more protein bars that he had stashed in there for this specific purpose.

‘But you shouldn’t……’ she stammers. “No Mom, I must, and I will.’ As Boreas walks out the door, his mom says ‘The Emperor protects, believe in him.’ ‘No Mom, he does not’ says Boreas as the door slams shut. Meanwhile across town...

‘Well that went well, thank the gods we found those busted vox casters.’ says Enforcer Elias. ‘Yes, we will need more numbers before we start the final phases of our master’s plans’ says Priest Xaphan in an almost imperceptible voice. ‘Keep your goddamn voices down.’ growls Commander DoZer, as the fading sunlight reveals his scared face. DoZer looks over at Elias, ‘Did you make sure the signal was unencrypted, so that damned Commissar will come where we want him?’ ‘Sure did sir, that signal was way out in the open, there is no way the high command missed that.’ ‘Good, let them come. They will eventually lead us to what we require.’ says Priest Xaphan, ‘It has been revealed to me.’

‘Commander, we have long range contacts on the auspex.’ says Sergeant Rio as he and Sergeant Tank walk into the room. Sergeant Tank pulls off his darkened visor, revealing large and distended eyes. Grabbing a hold of two ivory handled pistols; he grins evilly as his twirls them in his hands and says ‘Good, about time I’ve got targets worthy of my babies.’ Commander DoZer turns to Sergeant Rio, ‘Ready the men.’ he says. ‘My pleasure sir.’ says Sergeant Rio, and as he turns, he visage briefly fades into the darkened continence of an entity he welcomed into his body, a visage of horned and feral face, with long dangerous fangs.

They approached from two vectors, forcing Commander DoZer to split his forces. He ordered his men to hunker down and wait for the enemy to come within range. As the Imperial dogs approached the killing zone, Boomer, one of there Heavy Weapon Specialists, ran forward in a fit of bloodlust, trying to get them within range of his shotgun.

‘That one has a touch of the blood god in him’ muttered Priest Xaphan ‘We will have to keep an eye on that one.’ voxed DoZer as he watched him run from the upstairs window. ‘Dunce, take Elias and Rio to the East tower and get me some eyes on that other squad.’ voxed DoZer.

With most of his men facing the squad to the West, DoZer placed his trust in his ability of his three officers to keep control of the two men on the east. Sergeant Tank placed himself on an upstairs balcony, with a perfect view of the courtyard. He stood there twirling his ivory pistols, waiting impatiently for the enemy to show themselves. Finally they creep into the open, like the dogs they were. Tank unleashed blazing fire from his pistols dropping numerous imperial pigs where they stood, before being blasted off his feet from autogun fire.

Hails of fire streaked across the courtyard, wounding numerous friend and foe alike. Two flame thrower troopers, who walked with a funny gait, ran forward and unleashed hot hell on the exposed Renegade militia, torching one to flaming bits. On the east, Elias stood up and unleashed a hail of fire from his captured Hellgun at a crouching trooper, only to miss between his legs!

‘Goddammit, didn’t that training manual say to aim low when shooting from an elevated position.’ says Elias. ‘I didn’t know you could read.’ says Dunce as he leans over to unleash rounds from his autogun at some exposed officers. ‘Oh screw you, you son of a……’ The rest of the words did not come out as Elias took a grievous wound to the chest as he leaned over the bulwark to fire.

‘Sir it’s time to pull out, we have sucked them into where we want them’ voxed Xaphan. ‘Alright, let’s get out of here. Fall back to site E’ voxed DoZer to his band of warriors.’

They fell back in good order, and vacated to the prescribed site. The site was a perfect choice. It allowed for a view over the battle, and a direct view into DoZer’s command room. DoZer stood there, contemplating about the day. Elias took a wound to the chest, but due to Xaphans unnatural powers he healed it closed. The wound effected Elias so deeply, that it hardened his soul, and turned him into a frenzy of bloodlust. As he watched the Imperialists burn there way through the downstairs, DoZer watched that thrice cursed Commissar dig through this office, finding his personnel dataslate.

‘Do you think they will fall for it.’ says Xaphan. ‘Dammit man what did I tell you about walking up on me like that.’ screams DoZer as he whirls around and plants his Bolt Pistol against Xaphan’s head. ‘I know sir, it cannot be helped. It is how the masters saw to make me. But sir, do you think they will fall for it.’ ‘They better. I lost another man today. What did you put on that dataslate?’ growls DoZer. ‘It is a low entity of the warp. It takes the form of the viewers’ deepest desires. Hopefully it will be passed on to the two flame throwers of his. It will affect them most, due to there debased desires. Those two will make perfect servants of one of our masters.’ says Xaphan. ‘Which ones were those again?’ mutters DoZer. ‘You know which ones sir, they had that funny walk, almost like they had something shoved up there...’

‘COMMANDER!!’ says Sergeant Rio as he bursts into the command room. ‘What!?!’ snarls DoZer as he whips around, extremely displeased at being interrupted. ‘Sir, we have found a local prisoner who has escaped from the imperial prison. Also sir……we…well there is a local here who is willing to join our band. His name is Boreas. He says he heard our broadcast earlier.’ ‘I do not care what his name is. Bring him into the fold.’ says DoZer as he turns his back and continues watching the Commissar’s men burn everything…………

[Edited for format... it was VERY stretched out... hope you don't mind!]

That mutant was a real headache! Dozer designed him after MANY advancements to be a bad-mamma-jamma with his dual Hellpistols! My Orks took him as a priority every time... not to kill him, but so they could enjoy the massive DAKKA-DAKKA! affraid
