More Renegades...

Hehe indeed missing bits are a project delaying thing. Also browsing through the bitz box is a time consuming thing but oh so satisfying somehow.

The squad is slowly getting ready for painting. Only a little more GS and small details missing.

The Commander got a new sword and will be my Enforcer instead of Commander
And a Sergent with lasgun (WIP)


The new Commander made from IOB. Skaven Warlord and CSM Possessed Marine head. (WIP)




And the Ogryn. Still missing a bit of GS and other details. Initially I was going to give him a big hammer but i thought it was kind of boring. So challenged myself to make a mechanical claw. I think it turned out okay.

the claw.... I don't like claws. They used to rip my sqad apart... but this one look really good

Love the new sergeant - though how could you butcher such a lovely Skaven model (up until the latest release - very few of those about!)? Ogryns looking good too. The whole squad looks very original and has knitted due to a great use of parts.
The new commander needs two things to make it perfect (IMHO). I would make the sword into an arcance power sword (using two thin plastic rods running along the blade from the hilt) and I would reposition the bolt pistol (I love old school bolt pistols) so that it looks less 'loose' - moving his hand closer to the magazine should do it.

A quick question: Is the backpack on the Ogryn from the burna boyz/lootas set? I want to get this to expand my currently tiny Waaagh!

He he, I got the IOB warlord and engineer for about 8£ and there is many more where they came from. Cool idea about the sword but he can't start with a powersword so that's a no go

The backpack is from the standard Boyz box. If I remember correctly there is a backpack in the burnaboyz/loota box that looks roughly the same but has an angry grot sticking out of it

These are pretty much my favourite squad to date (I'm not going to say ever, I haven't seen them painted yet and that can only improve them )

I hope that the scavvies etc. I put together can imitate the creativity and variability to you show here. I don't know if you'd be interested but I found two other good Scavvy Renegade warbands over on Dakka.

Link - Individual models are cool here, perhaps a bit repetitive in faces but still cool.
Link - Overuses the cloak but still uses some interesting pieces in interesting ways.

The first link is awesome and you are quite right about the heads. A bit more variety could have been nice. The problem is that the Ghoul box dosen't provide very indiviual heads.

The renegades in the second link looks a little too messy for my taste. And Nurgle Orks now that's a crazy thought.


A minor update on the 'little' guy and I finished the last sergent.

I did a little more work on The Claw!




And sergent with bulging eyes mutation. Right now he looks like a fly but I hope some paint will do the trick.




Only the last details are missing before I can start swinging an evil paintbrush.

@skavenslayer: Thanks, ja, you know those german keyboards! so i have to use the old version of aa. Get me a danish keyboard, for crying out loud!

They looks so dirty and grimy (that is a compliment, my favorite style!).

I really like those once you made from skaven/ghoul bitz. They truly look evil!
