| I stopped by our local FLG store 2d10 games to drop off an item for another gamer and on my way I saw a box that said "$2 Each) and it was full of 40k novels. They were used books.
I found 10 Gaunt Ghost Novels and purchased them for around $20 plus tax. Not a bad deal as I was planning on acquiring the whole set. I believe there are 14 books in total.
Lesson learned: Keep checking your local FLG store for deals.

| FLGS=Fine Local Gaming Store LGS= Local Gaming Store (Usually of the This Sucks place variety ) By the way I think the Gaunts ghost series is the best stuff that Black Library has produced in a consistant manner. Theres some other good stuff but it seems hit or miss alot of the time. Abnett almost always delivers though with the Ghosts. | |

At least that is that has always been my understanding. Not sure about the Gaunt's Ghosts - each book I've read is great but one of the things that bothers me is the survival rate of guardsmen. How do enough Ghosts survive multiple serious deployments to be an effective battle force? Edited to add: Good find, I'm very jealous!

| Jammer, thanks. When you get down to the last couple books there is only a handful left. There is something in one of the last books about being integrated into another unit, but I can't remember the exact details. Ouch: 60 miles away | |

| The Ghosts originally started as the Tanith First and Only. All the members except for Gaunt were tanith born. Their ranks have had to be replenished twice to maintain fighting status and not be rolled into another unit. Once after Necropolis (Book 3) with members drawn from the surviving Vervun Hivers. The next was either after Honorguard or Sabbat Martyr and were drawn from the Beaudin (sp ?) population. | |
