Thanks for the nice comments.
I painted the head as normal, then I decided to make a watered-down grey-flesh mix. I then applied it to where the hair should be. The end result was a smooth (pun intended?) shadow. I remember thinking that it looked like me when I shaved my head a couple years ago. I was surprised at how easy it was. Next, I will try a 5 o'clock shadow for beard too!
The banner is the OLD school sticker... remember those? I had one, waiting for something special. I put some black wash on the corners and smudged it with my finger. Nothing fancy... just to simulate that the plasma gun had exploded before.
Well... my painting style is NOTHING like Master's DeafNala (I could not even dream to get close!) ... but I always try to emulate some of his stuff. He paints layers with thin stripes/coats... always borderline between perfection and complete ruin. Deaf is always perfect... one more line, and he would ruin his stuff. I have been VERY lucky and I have hold lots of his models (in person). I have taken some pics of his stuff too! Anyhow, I could not think my crappy models could get any higher compliment!
Glad you like it... and thanks for the feedback!
