| Just purchased on ebay a Rambo Helicopter and boat on 1/48 scale. From what I am reading 1/48 works well for 28m figures.
Looking to build up a Catachan squad to go with these two items.
No rules for either vehicle but thought it would be fun to create some dioramas with them.

I tried saving the pics and downloading them but it didn't work.

| I want to try to create a jungle terrain area, maybe 2 feet by 2 feet square.
A river in the middle and the boat traveling through being attacked Orks from the land and maybe have the helicopter on a Valkerie stand flying in for support.
Thanks for posting the pics, when I tried saving the pics this AM, they would only save as internet and not as a true pic.
I love the IG and I don't have a Catachan squad and I would like to have one to add to my squads.
Help, ideas, suggestions are welcome.

| The helicopter seems to be 1:72 scale? the boat looks right though.
If you need any junk parts I have a stack of old models many of them ww2 & vietnam era.

| Yes... the helicopter seems kindda small... UNLESS you make it an OLD wreck. That way you could put it on separate parts (some even missing) and it would still create the illusion of the chopper. Two Words... PLASTIC PLANTS. They are cheap (you can find them also on the Dollar Store!) I got many in Michael's too... cheap is good. Remember that in order to make the illusion you need to 'paint' the plants too. Drybrushing them a different tone of green (or watever) would be enough. That way your other 'terrain' matches the colors and all looks like it belongs. | |

Good points. If helicopter is too small maybe it can be a crash site (Valkyerie Down Scenario) and the boat is coming in for a rescue.
Yea, I need cheap jungle terrain as GW's jungle terrain is obscenely over priced.
Once I get it in I will take pics with models next to it.
I did get(EBAY) a painted Valkerie also as a back up.
I am excited as it has been awhile since I have put anything together and PE 2012 has helped get the creative juices flowing.

| The Boat and Helicopter arrived today and Dysturbed was correct, the helicopter is a bit small. Both models came in the same box and are 1/48 scale. Here are some pics. Overall the height of GW models and 1/48 is the same (without base) but 1/48 models are slimmer and GW models are fuller or thicker models (girth). The boat will be great to have some fun with as I can figure out how to mount some bolters and etc to it. The helicopter might have to be "blackhawk down" or crashed aspect of this diorama to help hide the side differences. Maybe a 1/40 scale or 1/35 would work but I am afraid 1/35 will be too big. Below are the pics. Model inside boat has NO BASE. Model on back of boat has base. Model inside Boat has a base. Making him too tall. Model knelling inside helicopter is still too big but is also on base but without the GW model is still a little big for the model. | |

| Some info on someone's jungle terrain. Maybe others could use the ideas.

Here is some reasonable priced jungle terrain. I have not used them but came across it today. http://www.theterrainguy.com/312injupatr1.html

| Any ideas on how to paint the boat? (See pics above).
Should I prime it black or white? I would imagine I would keep the boat a grey color.
