| Hi all!
I'm getting back into the plastic crack habit after a long time clean and sober thanks to my eldest son who's just discovered my old White Dwarf magazines. Like all five year old enthusiasts, he's developed an unhealthy interest in Space Marines. I used to be a Warhammer player myself, and having hundreds of minis tucked away collecting dust and plotting my demise, I of course tried to talk him into "that cool game with dragons and swords and magic and stuff", but my boy's nothing if not stubborn, so it soon became clear that it was going to be 40k or face the chibi hulk.
So, faced with collecting not one, not two, but THREE playable 40k armies (my youngest son refuses to be left out) I started scouring the web for cheap minis. Then I thought "if only there was a 40k version of Mordheim". I checked out Necromunda of course, but that wasn't quite right. Same with Inquisitor. So off to Google I went, thinking all the while "surely somebody's done all the hard work of designing a 40k skirmish game... so that I don't have to!" And eventually, after a few false leads, I found mention of Death Squads on the Greenfield Games forum and hastily made my way over.
I've had a look through the rules, and am incredibly happy with what I see. As will my boys I'm sure! So, now it's time to start buying and painting. Red Wolves Space Marine Scouts for Big Man (gonna use the IG rules until the official squad is released), The Wah Wah Waaagh Orks for Little Man and the Kalddag Ulvene for Daddy (I'm making a Feralworld IG squad that uses the Lyubov rules).
I'm looking forward to sharing our exploits with you all, as I've enjoyed reading yours!

| Welcome to the group!
I am glad you found us. Like you I had searched around to see what other 40k "skirmish" games there were and unfortunately, there were not a lot of choices.
Keep us posted on your squads as I would love to hear more about them.

| Welcome BACK! It is great to see our Brothers coming back from a undeserved holiday in The Warp! I do appreciate VERY much the mentioning of the place where you found the information... (link at Green Field Games) Da Bank and myself posted... everyone else, feel free to stop by and post a nice 'thanks'. Anyway... I ALSO applaud what you are doing with your boys! Start with IGs (plenty to choose!) and Orks. By the time they know how to play, the new Squads will be ready. Remember to obey the community rules: 1) Have FUN! 2) Post Pictures. Well... that is NOT a rule, but I think it should be! I love pics! Good luck painting models... I can't wait to read about your adventures and seeing your models (see? PICTURES!) | |

| Kia Ora! I noticed there was a healthy dose of Squaddies down there! I'll have to swim down for a game or two sometime Actually, really want to make it over there in time for the World Cup. I always back the AB's after the Wallabies choke I'll see what I can do on this end to boost the Southern Hemisphere incursion | |
