Something Mordheimy from Laney

Over the school holidays I spent a bit of time creating some Mordheim warbands. My beloved skaven got a bit of a revamp, I then created two mercenary warbands from my bits box (plus a pistoliers box I bought) and an orc/goblin warband entirely from my bits box (though I need one more square base for them). Here are some WIP pics of the mercenary warbands.

They are both simple kitbashes, with the minimum of converting and tiny amount of GS...

Reiklanders (Might go Yellow and Blue - like the Reikland Reavers Blood Bowl team) The pistolier helmets stuck me as quite 'Reiklandy'

Marienburgers (Red, Yellow/Cloth Gold/Ochre and possibly small amounts of black) The posh hats with lots of feathers just said Marienburg to me (with lots of rough/tough mercenary recruits)

Nice! Are these made by simply throwing the three Empire plastic sets (gunners, soldiers and militia) together?

The Shields on the second picture are from goblins. Nice work so far

They are mostly handgunners, pistoliers, state troopers, militia with a random selection of other parts I had in my bits box. Goblin shields (I wondered what they were from), empire knights shield, empire general, a couple of bretonnian heads (marienburg youngbloods) and a catachan head (3rd marienburg swordsmen) from the command box.

EXCELLENT LOOKING Marienburg Lads! You've done a SPLENDID bit of kit-bashing on the Band of Rogues. The REALLY COOL thing about games like Mordheim & Death Squad is that you can go to town on the individual pieces AND get involved with more than one genre of game. Keep up the FINE WORK!

Very cool, they look like my dream warbands, can't wait to see them painted. Any chance of pics of the skaven?

I try to post some pics of the skaven later - they are very simply painted or WIP or not at all. The only irritation is that I made some slings out of GS (which I found trickier than I should've) and then they bring out an ace slings set for converting (the month after I've finished)!

I might do the captains of each warband - but the rest will likely be undercoat only for least a few months/years (I will probably paint the bases to differentiate between the two warbands).

Very nice! I love the guy with the warplock pistol. Did you do all of those slings from greenstuff?

Kiwi: Unfortunately not, all those are the slings from the night runner set, but I needed more (which are attached to the belts fo the grey guys) - I'll take a pic if you want.

Yes, please I'm thinking of starting a clan pestilens warband but plague monks don't come with slings.

Sorry kiwi I forgot - I'll see if I can get a couple of the slings up tonight (they aren't anything special).

I also have some plan pics of Mordheim buildings I (eventually) intend to build in my shed when its finished for a Mordheim board (to go with the space station board my fevered mind wants to create). Faustenkrein's Laboratory (Dr Engel von Faustenkrein and his monster 'Caliban', The Playhouse of Ancients Theatre (Haunted by 'The Phantom' of course), owned by the undead Rikjard Scallion, A crashed Aeronautical Explorventuring Skyshippe (no sketches of this yet).
