| Here are some pics of 'Silent Death' himself. He will probably only appear as a character in the story (I'm already too attached to Joe Pineapples), maybe as an aide to Felix Nemeia - but I couldn't resist building my version of such a potentially iconic character (Guys like him and McClane will be this games Calgar, Kantor and co). The only problem I had with the pose is that it is unbalanced - I've had to weight the base to keep him upright. Next to him is a practice model for the Savlar Chem Dogs (Cadians) - with respirator. The miniature is a metal Rackham model (Griffon Fusiliers) - I really like the long thin styling of the body and weapon. Unfortunately, rackham dropped al their metal lines - which were brilliant in favour of rubbish pre-painted plastics (so get them while their hot). The hangman's noose on the Chem Dog is to remind him of his escape from the gallows to fight in the IG and gain redemption. More painted varangians to follow - but first I've got to take a couple of pics to jazz up the battle reports - and a little storyline too! Feedback always welcome as ever. Cheers Laney | |

| Thanks for all the positives on the sniper - if only I can get him to stay upright! I need to put a greater mass in the base. Some more WIP pics for the Varangians - I've almost finshed the squad... Left to Right: Lieutenant Sharpe, Lieutenant Zaitsev, 2nd Lieutenant Miller. Left to Right: Sergeant Kelly, Sergeant Kilgore, Captain Reismann Left to Right: Sharpshooter Pineapples, Private First Class Kurtz, Medic Velinski Left to Right: Weapon Specialist Scarlett Reddwater, Private Franks, Private Tommy Shore One more paint session and these guys should be finished! Cheers Laney I've not got a decent lamp yet - but at least got taken in daylight | |

| Better picture man! AMAZING models! The camo is second to NONE! One thing that is driving me CRAZY... how in the name of the Emperor's uvula you managed to do the copper patina (weathering)? I have been trying for YEARS... no good. Can you please, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell us? Also, where did you got the model for Weapon Specialist Scarlett Reddwater? She looks hot... get it, red-head... flame thrower? Ohhh I better stick to writing gaming manuals. If you can... can we get ... screw it... CAN I GET some solo pics of the new Captain Reismann? Model came out AWESOME! Also pics of Sergeant Kelly, Sergeant Kilgore & Medic Velinski would be nice. You have some interesting conversions. Isn't is cool? We already refer to your models by NAMES (Private First Class Kurtz) rather than GENERIC TYPES (Ogryn)? I tell you... your 40k Army will NEVER be the same! | |

| Hi Guys, The female figure is a Forsaken Firestorm Leader from Dark Age Games (who have a few interesting models for ). I had it floating around in my bits box and thought it would make for an interesting addition. I'll try to get some individual shots posted when their all painted up and done (almost finished). On the weathering... The base coat was dwarf bronze roughly coated over a black undercoat (You can also layer the bronze over tin bitz if you want an extra level of shading). I then gave it a wash of badab black, then devlan mud (I know the washes are uneconomic - but I'm lazy!). The verdigris (blue-green) weathering was then added (this was a 50:50 mix of scorpion green and hawk turquoise, diluted with approach equal volumes of water (I don't measure just slop it in), then painted on around the rivets and edges (You can be fairly generous as it reduces a little bit when it dries). As an extra step on the Captain, I used Humbrol acrylic rust paint (it can from a paint series designed for model trains), to tone down the weathering a little. He is standing on an sewer outlet - so there will be water effects on his base as well. Hope this made sense. Cheers Laney | |

| AMAZING! Thanks for the info... I SWEAR, one day I will try it. I need a vacation of TLRB. Can't wait to get that shit done. Hhehehe... it happens about 3 weeks before the release... I see almost everything done, and I want to get it OVER with, so I can start painting. Don't mind the crazy man... YOU KEEP ON PAINTING! | |

| Hi All, No more painting done (been working on the freighter model and other things). It's next on my list of things to do. However, thought you might like to see a couple more recruits to the urban fighter cause... Father-Chaplain .... insert name here... (Banner Bearer, Plasma Gunner - eventually!) All I know about him is that he likes his Amasec abit too much! This original top of his banner is in the process of becoming an inquisitorial servo skull (I'll post when the glue dries). Private... insert name here... (Flamer, Weapon Specialist 2) Nothing major - just a respirator and a militia head separate him from a normal guardsmen - I was going for British WW2 with the helmet. Cheers - Always love feedback Laney | |

| Wow! Pretty nice. A priest with a Plasmagun? Only in 40k!!! Love the WWII head... makes the model look 100% different. A true example of 'less is more'! Well done! The photos are a little to bright... remember, camera set on 'flower', indirect 'natural light' (white), from 12" away (you can crop the picture) and no flash. I know your camera was kissing the model... because I can see exactly where the focus point it... lonely grain of sand on the right! I was wondering where you got the time... then I remember that I spend LOTS of hours with TLRB.... HA! THANKS FOR SHARING! | |

| Awesome stuff! I've tried doing camo paint on a couple models before, but it turned out a complete mess & I restarted them (abandoning the camo!) How did you do yours? I'd quite like giving it another go | |

| I think I can manage that - but not sure if I have many WIP pics of the camo itself - so you'll have to survive with my descriptions!

| Thanks for the comments! I love feedback and even my wife thought it was cool that you guys give your ideas and my models get better e.g. Mordheimer spot on critique of the Eldar Exarch OSL. @DeafNala: Coming from someone of your obvious abilities (Your D and D Gallery is ace) that means alot. I can't wait to see the Space Hulk Blood Angels that Mordheimer has been talking about (I've only painted one to completion so far and would love a bit of inspiration!) has taken over my life, just at the point when I don't have a fully functioning 40k army, but Blood Angels and hopefuly a new Daemonhunters army await. Ramble finished... Cheers Laney | |

| No problem... Here's what I did Pale skin:Black undercoat Tallarn flesh basecoat Ogryn flesh wash (if you want to inidicate facial hair you can also use a coat of badab black wash around the mouth cheeks and chin) You can either stop there or... Highlight with tallarn flesh again on raised areas or elf flesh (can be a little too pale though) Dark Skin: (I think this is what I did on the two versions of Alex 'Ice Cold' Reismann) Black undercoat Scorched brown basecoat Devlan mud wash Calthan brown highlight Devlan Mud wash (to tone down the calthan brown) Snakebite leather final highlight Hope this helps Laney | |

| First of all very good miniatures in general!!
Did you make the power cord for the plasma pistol yourself or is the model that way? Cause it looks awesome.
And just read through your post, good to see another ABC warriors fan, their badassery is legendary. | |

| Hi All, Just one quick pic - a WIP pic of a servo skull based on some artwork from the 40k rulebook (this is a non-combat unit used to represent the presence of the Inquisitor Achilles Cesare watching over the unit). Cheers Laney | |
