| Hi there, also new and seeing this thread I just had to contribute (hijack ) it. I was planning to start a Jenkala Urban Fighters band, being a urban spec-ops kinda guy I’m also considering equipping my Captain with a powerfist. The chance to equip him with a rarity 9 item that, on paper at least, seems to be able to just pummel you enemy is to cool to pass up. As I see it you just need to get him to charge, which will alleviate the ‘strike last’ rule most of the time as he reverts back to I4 (if I read the rules right). Granted, no use against Eldar or something, but still. And by equipping him with some armor I figured he would say in the fight long enough to do some damage even if he strikes last. Of course that is my theory, my dice rolling usually proves otherwise…. Anyway, to further highjack the thread a first draft of a list for my squad: Captain: Powerfist Laspistol Flak Jacket+helmet Lieutenant: Shotgun Flak jacket+helmet Lieutenant: Autogun Flak jacket+helmet Sergeant: Flak jacket Sergeant: Flak jacket Heavy weapons specialist: Flamer 4x Infantry (no extra equipment) Of course, all posted in the spirit of furthering the discussion of course | |

| Howdy! Welcome! Sorry that I un-hijacked the thread ( ) and created one of your very own. I would HATE to have it lost in the shuffle! Well... the Power Fist is NOT all that cracked up to be in v0.5.1b... it has been balanced for the new v0.6.0. I would wait until the release to play with the PF! Now... you have 4 'naked' Infantrymen and your Sgt with no weapons. Not a good idea, IMHO. Autoguns are cheap; drop some Infantryman if you have to... but that Power Fist can also do the trick! | |

| Ok, new plan then. I also had the misconseption that autopistols and knife's were free, so that explains my 'empty' troops earlier.
Captain: (116 points) Chainsword Laspistol Flak Jacket+helmet
Lieutenant: (106 points) Shotgun Flak jacket+helmet
Lieutenant: (102 points) Autogun Flak jacket+helmet
Sergeant: (77 points) Flak jacket Slugger
Sergeant: (77 points) Flak jacket Slugger
Heavy weapons specialist: (56 points) Flamer
Medic: (55 points) Autopistol
Spare points: 11.
I do feel kinda understaffed with this. Should I dump the helmets on the Lieutenants to buy an infantry soldier with autorifle perhaps? I do feel the choice of flak over mesh is a good one at first, seeing there is only a 2 point difference and flak is easier to get pre-start. | |

| Your Squad feels sub-par because the GAME is designed that way! You see, one of the main concepts of is "Zero to Hero"... ALL Squads feel under-powered. Like they don't 'fit' your definition of a "bunch of professional soldiers". But THAT is the point... your Squad is one of BILLIONS of Squads, and your life expectancy is 15 Hours. You are not worth the uniform you have been given... you are nothing but a meat-shield for the Commissars. In game terms, the system is designed to 'improve' your Squad after the first game! You see... if you take the SAME Squad you have above, and 'survive' (not even win) the 1st game, once you buy a couple of Helmets you feel your Squad is better. By the end of game 2, ALL your Recruits will have earned an Advancement, as well as most Officers. Few more weapons and your Squad feels better... and better... and better! By game 5 you feel your Squad is 'ok'. What this causes is that the Campaign viability is ~25 games (where Mordheim and Necromunda falls apart by game 15). Your Squad has 7 guys? Tough crowd! I would suggest dropping the Flaks and keeping the Helmets. You have Save 6+, but you have 4+ Save against Stun AND you do get a 6+ Inv for that Critical Hit (Head Shot). You can buy Flak Jackets after game 1. That will give you 60 credits. Then I would drop the Sluggers from the Sgts and get Autopistols and get 16 more credits. Each Infantryman with an Autogun is 45 credits, so you could get 2 of them! Well... that is me. Your Squad seems FUN to play. | |

| No date yet set for a game, but I'm glueing happely at the moment getting them together. Might even do some painting before the fist game (will provide pics!). Still havn't fully decided what I will do with the list, but I think I am going to go with Mordheimer's recomendation by dropping the armour on the lieutenants and adding an infantry soldier with autorifle. | |

| Go Urban Fighters! I like the list, especially with the revisions you've made. Good luck with these guys (they are my favourites). Post pics - even WIP (especially WIP - so I can nick any ideas you've got!) Cheers Laney | |
