| Well, this evening I was returning from a gym and something amazing struck me By the fluff, why a slaneesh chaos space marine can't be a female Can you imagine a level of evil that a Slaneesh gave marks and power armor to a woman. And she's a leader of chaos cult squad Complete new level of sculpting, painting and huliation of emperor I wrote it down just to try to make a female CSM as soob I finish current projects I had to admit that this game gives a fantastic new approach to wh40k p.s. today I started my first true scale CSM so expect a pics | |

| Good thinking. That has my brain turning... one battle sister model (corrupted) leading a cult might also look great. A smaller profile than the average marine, as well as a strange allure. A fantasy model in plate armour (sexy paladin?) with a suitable backpack could work too. | |

| As far as I remember in one of the white dwarfs or the Space marine codex where it shows all the steps to become a marine it talks about how only males can survive the process. However with Slaanesh gender is a changeable thing. Also, just counting a female warrior in power armor bulked out and all would be fine. I don't know how big they are actually, but I like the idea of one of the Inquisitor Assassin twins model. But then adding Armor to that. So super tall and thin. That has always seemed Slaaneshi to me.
Thought of the Day: If your eyes tempt you, purge them. If your foe tempts you, purge yourself.

| Slaanesh him/herself is not really male or female (or both). As Balrog said, with Slaanesh gender is a changeable thing. Slaanesh appears half male, half female in many cases (I've seen him...).
So I'd go nuts. Heck, you could even put some Daemonette in charge of the squad! But you will have to provide pics...

| Hmm, I don't think that a Daemonette would be a good choice They're just mindless killing creatures We need some leader with a brain and tactics for a leader of the Cult...remember, the plan of a cultist is to surrender entire planet to Chaos As for Female CSM, well, a battle sister is a quite good idea but I got in mind to make her a true scale, combining parts of CSM, to add some "features" on the armor and make a CSM a more feminine Thought about miniatures of other manufactures, they got some fantastic female SF miniatures, but...it's a kind of chalenge... And that challenge is still in a drawer, just like a True scale CSM, because I got to much work I hope that I'll be abble to continue Death squads after this weekend...damn, I miss that time I was unemployed, too bad I didn't know about this game :/ | |

| Fluff-wise female space marines don't exist, unfortunately. As others have pointed out bio-sex is meaningless to Slaanesh, though - s/he has moved beyond such basic binaries of physicality (and beyond the various other options we currently understand). I like balgrog's tall and thin approach, although I think the Assassin twins would work only a basic framework onto which to layer serious amounts of GS (still a good idea though!).
I'm not sure you're characterisation of Daemonettes is entirely in keeping with the fluff - we haven't (to my knowledge) received any specific information on their intelligence or capability and other daemons range in intelligence considerably.
A twisted Sister of Battle is an interesting idea but I think a lot of players would dismiss it as not in keeping with the fluff - personally I think anyone can be tempted (well, Horus was and he was a damn patriarch!) so go for it.

| SOB or Female Marine - either is a cool idea - it's your squad, break the fluff if you want! I'd love to see the results! Laney | |

| Why not do a corrupted Sister of Battle? I mean I know their devotion is way up there but so was Horus's before he fell.
Then again i'm just counting the days till the new plastic Sister's come out so...

Actually corrupted SOBs have been in the fluff. They were a predominant part of the Daemonifuge story line and there were a few stories in Inferno with them. I want to say in Warhammer monthly as well but that might have been part of Daemonifuge as well. I like the way that the armor is warped and mutated in the second pic at the bottom. If you get a chancve to read the series you should check it out it was pretty cool.

| I had forgotten Deamonifuge - very good point! Etheral (sp?) Stern is a great fleshing out of the Sisters of Battle and the art work is amazing. I haven't read the entire series but I loved the bits I did see. My point wasn't that a corrupted Sister (or female Marine) was impossible but that I've met gamers who would dismiss it off-hand (and incorrectly as it turns out ) as impossible. I would go for it and have actually been thinking about doing a second truescale marine - this time a Slaaneshi tall-and-thin. | |
