I really want a sneaky ork list, but have read they aren't as strong so here goes. I've also included a few other line ups.

what is better 2 burner boys or 1 tincan

ERROR on all lists, 1 Ard boy has no weapons (forgot to double the cost!)

Sneaky list
Exactly 750 10 men
nob blasta, choppa, mesh, ead bucker, frag, incendary, choke
wierdboy club
sneaky boss blasta, choppa
ard boyz (x2) blasta, choppa

orkboy choppa, slugga
painboy choppa, slugga
kommandoz (x2) choppa, slugga
gretchins peashooter

The lists are quite similar as most of the intersting weapons are rare so I planned to load up the comanndos / sneaky boss as soon as i could. The officers are armed nearly identically although i added another grenade to the top list.

I didn't look super in depth at the lists. Initially, orks are very good because they can have high numbers with toughness 4 (so they are hard for others to kill). The best way to maximize this is to get as many boyz as you can and go light on the equipment. The grenades and choppas are a lot of points early in the game.

I really enjoy using kommandos. Three burnas at the start can really bring the hurt to the squishy humies though.

Do not arm your Grots... they are disposable units made to aid the Orks, not to hurt the enemy. Grots are to 'disarm' booby-traps (the Ork way... BOOM!!!!), to be use as welcome mats, to be used as living shields or to keep an enemy from Assaulting you.

AFTER the campaign is stable, then you can arm some Gretchins. Save money and get more Boyz!

It may not be the most efficient use of credits - but one armed grot doesn't hurt at this stage. I've gone sneaky, because I'm playing Eldar mostly and getting close to them quickly is essential - By Game 4 I have 3 Kommandos, Sneaky Boss and an LGT Kommando, which makes for a nasty little unit to occupy them. I do have the bitz for some burnas just never got round to building them.

An alternative list (ditching the grot - that was for +1 credit you can get an extra ork boy) suggestion...

Sneaky list
2 Credits spare (I think) 12 Orks
Nob blasta, choppa, mesh, ead bucket, smoke grenade (2) (to cover your assault)
Weirdboy club
Sneaky boss blasta, choppa
Ard boyz (x2) blasta, choppa

Orkboy club (x4) (never going to hit anything anyway)
Painboy club
Kommando Choppa, Slugga
Kommando Choppa, Blasta (keep the Kommandos in separate recruit groups to maximise LGT chances)

Leave the trash kan till later - the upkeep and vulnerability early on is not worth it.

Any use?

I think I need to work out how grenades work, and with out being too much of a meta game atleast look at the other gang lists, as its potentially. ORK, ORK, ELDAR, CHAOS cultists. Although I have an IR army as well, but grenades and strenght is number is going to have to be their intial style too albeit with toughtness 4...

Found a maths error, one of the ard boys is not armed.... so those lists don't add up.

I can see the appeal for having a lightly armed group but I may go half way arm them up slightly bettter and go with less men, a balance between effectiveness and fluff.

New optimal list

11 men, 1 credit spare

Nob: blasta, choppa, mesh, ead bucker, 2 smoke 1 incendary
Wierd boy: Club
Sneaky boss: blasta choppa
Ard boy (2): Blasta choppa
ork boy (3) club
pain boy : Club / knife
kommando: club / slugga
kommando: club / slugga

a burner with flamer is a few points less than a kommando with club / slugga. So i could swap the kommandos with burner boys and 15 spare. if I also drop the incedary grenade gives me 23 spare... naked grot! or stock on grenades on the boss to share out later.

I want to get a range 24 weapon for the sneakboss so that frees up a blasta for a kommando.

I will edit the top post when I get a moment.
