| Hey, that's pretty cool. I especially like the damaged look of the church. Maybe it would look even better if you scattered the fallen windows parts a little bit more, but still it looks amazing I only wish I had a money and space for things like this | |

| I will ONLY be happy when I get to PLAY in your table with you... so, I guess I be grumpy for some time. OHHH... you mean about the pics? I love 'em! The terrain looks FANTASTIC! Very playable (you have some ladders to put in towards the higher levels?) The paint and basing is VERY good... take that back... it is GREAT! I will take this as an inspiration. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!! | |

| Nice work. What stage were the models at when you got them? Assembled, kits, painted, etc? I really like the ruined church. I like the pegasus models but haven't found a retailer with cheap shipping to get them here! | |

| @Narcissus: the first two buildings are a mix of straight-from-the-box stuff and assembled stuff I got on eBay (it got it ALL from ebay, but some of it still unbuild in the box, with seal!). The pre-assembled stuff was done in a way to make the buildings look even more ruined: stuff glued at an angle and such. Not my style, but it works.
And yeah, Pegasus stuff is cool. Again, this kit is from eBay. It looks awesome when painted, but the detail is noticably less than GW kits (while not even that much cheaper - retail, that is). Best part of buying a complete kit is that, when you do wreck it to make a ruin, you're left with all kinds of parts and rubble: making for a much more complete look.
I'll keep hunting Pegasus stuff, I dearly want their larger cathedral model, hehe.
Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'll keep you posted when I get the chance to do some more.

| I would really like a complete shot of a playing tabel with that stuff? You know, for inspiration. | |

| I'll get you one, promise. However, I'm making this a modular board and what I need to add are road-tiles (half a tile each, quarter-tile for corners). I really want to make some of those, before I make you guys drool. | |

| The models look great set up on the playing table.
On the pegasus models, I haven't seen them in person yet but I feel like the lower level of details is a benefit in some ways. The amount of detail and gubbins on the GW buildings is extreme. The 40k buildings look kind of strange in my opinion. The pieces look nicely detailed when included in other applications but for the scale of buildings I think that they are over the top. I like the less detailed walls of the Pegasus kits.

Thanks for the pics, Prius!

| Thank you! Actually we should start a thread, where all showed off their "full" playing tables, it actually gives a lot in my opinion - and maybe a few words on the terrain's ups and downs.
I really like the terrain on this table (I'm thinking of making a cathedral / church meself), and the IG's fit in so very well - again thank you Arachas =)

| Thanks guys. I personally think it still has a long way to go! For example, I plan to add road tiles and cover the entire table with terrain pieces.
And I need CATWALKS! | |

| Looking nice. I like the rubble and broken building too. I really like those Pegasus buildings. My favourite are the scratch built buildings though. They look great. Thanks for sharing! | |

| I think the table is looking great - there is more to add - but it beats anything I could put out for a game.
Just out of curiosity what thickness of material are you using for the base? I had serious warping issues with 3mm MDF in my previous table modelling attempts.

| 6mm MDF! No warping whatsoever, you should be safe!
It's a bit of a step for models, but since I plan to cover the entire table with it, it's fine.

- uhhhh... what is MDF?
It's kinda like particle board in that it's made from chips of wood pressed and glued into sheets. The difference is that while particle board uses small chips, MDF is basically made from sawdust. This makes for a surface that is super smooth and easy to work with while being "reasonably" strong, it takes a routered edge beautifully. The down side is that it's pretty heavy, and not a strong as might be desired. Personally I love the stuff.

| It also doesn't do well with water if you don't seal it on all sides. | |

| Well...no. But I wouldn't trust anything made of trees to hold up to water.
Also, what are you doing with water on the gaming table? My old GM used to provide a small table for each player/pair of players to keep drinks off his table.

| I usually smear so much sand and whatnot over my tiles, that water isn't an issue. The woodglue simply seeps into the MDF and it becomes rocksolid, really. | |
