| Your bottom is a flat plane aka it gets the most light. It should be lightest in the direction that the light is shining the next perpendicular plane should be middle tone. Next the one that is perpendicular to the light should be dark grey with darker shadows. That doesn't mean you should paint it all one color what it means is that the highlights and most of the color used should be lighter if it's on the lightest. The highlights should be darker on the darker part. In paint terms i would paint the right wall with codex gray. add some black to codex gray to do the back wall, and start off with a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of white and codex gray for the flat plane on the bottom. this is your basecoat after that you can highlight and ink. Be sure to be mindful of where the light is coming from when you do highlights. highlights should be on the left side of each block on the flat plane. the should be toward the top of the blocks on the vertical walls. Also when you highlight be sure not to cover up too much of the basecoat you want the main colors here to be the colors you put down in the first place NOT your highlights and shadows. Now when you do this you have to remember that the light coming down is coming in left to right aka the opposite of what it looks like on what im showing you. This will give more of the illusion of space. | |

| I can understand the theoretical part behind the OSl painting but it's just not for me to do it with a paint brush when the effect you get with an airbrush, even when one cannot use it all that well, is so superior. I know how to glaze, as I try to glaze at least one part of every model I paint to practice, but even on my most inspired moments I cannot get the effect I want when it comes to OSL. My pc had a problem and the monitor's no longer with us so I can't edit any images nor see any pictures. I don't even know if my HD is still there, all I have left is this one picture I took before it was all gone. - Quote :
- Guilleret was a psyker that suddenly lost his powers during his sanctioning training. After several being subjected to several examinations the Imperium decided that his loss was because his conection with the Warp was severed.
That was taken as a huge thing since if what happened with Guilleret could be replicated and weaponized, the Imperium could eradicate almost all unwanted Warp connections and keep their people safe, as well as render all enemies psykers useless, and so Guilleret was sent to a study facility on the prison planet #84L4N64Z, where exams and tests began.
Eventually he went mad, not just because of the pain and suffering he was experiencing but also because he still had a connection with the Warp, a conection so great that he managed to summon a Demon Prince, X, and pledged for a deal with Tzeentch.
All he wanted was to die, and the 'just as planed' God gave him just that. In return, Guilleret was condemned to wander the planet, possess and torture any person and use their bodies as vessels to bring deamons to this plane. After a few decades Guilleret managed to find a loop hole on his deal, and using the Warp to realocate his doomed soul he now could wander wherever he wanted, as long as he kept possessing bodies for Tzeentch.
Now, he is a powerful entity that spreads destruction wherever he passes, specially on skirmish scale games as a Mercenary Rogue Psyker! Hope the text wasn't bad to read, my grammar and writing in English are getting worse by the day... If you find anything wrong, please point it out. i'll also try to take more pictures but won't be able to post until my pc is up and running again. EDIT: Ok, this is not up to my standards, so I'm going to send a few 'extras' with it. Since i don't sleep anymore I'll start working on it today and see if I can get it done by sunday. EDIT 2: That is if I can find any one of my 3 x-acto blades...

| Looks ace so far - having had an early fail with my airbrush it is impressive to see what can be achieved with one. I'm assuming you are going for a limited colour palette with this - that would look awesome (sorry if you've already said what you plan and I've missed it). I've got to try more airbrush stuff.
Looking forward to seeing the prisoner in more detail.

| I'm not sure I read right or you read wrong but this wasn't done with an airbrush, Laney =p
It has a limited palette, yes, I used 4 shades of green, ice blue and lime green+white.
After the picture was taken I sprayed mat varnish on the whole piece and later gloss varnish over the top, it gave me a nice effect with a dead-black on the far corners of the room.

| I must have read wrong (sorry about that) - either way it looks cool - but I'd love to see some close ups on the prisoner himself.

| Sorry to hear about the misfortunes, balangaz. One thing for sure... that picture looks GREAT! Very inspirational for me! In kindness, let me help you with your story... few words missing or out of place. Guilleret was a Psyker that suddenly lost his powers during his sanctioning training. After being subjected to several examinations, the Imperium decided that his loss was caused by a severed connection to the Warp.
That was taken as a huge thing, since if what happened with Guilleret could be replicated and weaponized, the Imperium could eradicate almost all unwanted connections to the Warp and keep their people safe, as well as render all enemies Psykers useless. Guilleret was sent to be studied on the prison planet #84L4N64Z, where exams and tests began.
Eventually he went mad, not just because of the pain and suffering he was experiencing but also because he still had a connection with the Warp. A connection so great that he managed to summon a Demon Prince, X, and pledged for a deal with Tzeentch.
All he wanted was to die, and the 'just as planed' God gave him just that. In return, Guilleret was condemned to wander the planet, possess and torture any person found. He could use their bodies as vessels to bring deamons to this plane. After a few decades, Guilleret managed to find a loop hole on his deal, and using the Warp to relocate his doomed soul. He now could wander wherever he wanted, as long as he kept possessing bodies for Tzeentch.
Now, he is a powerful entity that spreads destruction wherever he passes, specially on skirmish scale games as a Mercenary Rogue Psyker!

Nice read! I got moved to add few things. It is NOT that I think that my story is any better... it is just that I want MOAR!!!! Feel free to use whatever you want. - Quote :
- During standard training exercises performed by the Scholastia Psykana, an event of enormous significance to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica occurred. Records showed that a young Psyker in training known as Guilleret suffered a catastrophic failure to establish a connection to The Warp. The conduit could be properly open, but it would collapse on itself without any explanations. Word of such event traveled quickly directly to the ears of the Master of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica himself.
By order of High Lords of Terra themselves, the phenomenon needed to be studied. If the cause of the event could be controlled, then it could be used as both a weapon and a defense against the forces of Chaos. Not only this could be used by the Inquisition to terminate undesired and unsanctioned Psykers among the civilian population, but it would rend heretical Psykers powerless. Furthermore, if a connection would be weaken, it was safe to assume that it could also be strengthen. The possibilities to empower allied Psykers was tremendous.
And so, the young and naive Guilleret was informed that he could be sent to a research facility for further study. To his surprise, he arrived to Prison Planet #84L4N64Z, where he was kept under maximum security incarceration. The exams, probing, tests and tortures, both physical and mental, began in earnest. The isolation from any human contact, along with the brutality of the Magii's research drove Guilleret insane. Such were the cycles of intense pain followed by sensory deprivation that Tzeentch himself noticed the man.
For decades the Lord of Changed watched in delight how Guilleret cycled though emotions and states of physical being. He saw Guilleret die and resurrected countless times with great delight. But such things become repetitive quickly for a timeless entity such as Tzeentch and so, his toy needed to be... changed. He allowed Guilleret to feel The Warp once more, but his damaged mind could only contemplate torture and despair. With a new source of power, Guilleret jumped into an Astral Projection and tasted freedom through the Warp for the first time.
But Tzeentch, the Great Conspirator, had other plans. He sent his Daemon Prince Ghargatuloth, "The Prince of a Thousand Faces", to find Guilleret and tempt him with freedom, permanent power and immortality in exchange of eternal allegiance to Tzeentch. Guilleret quickly accepted the deal, without even considering the consequences. The Architect of Fate kept his part of the bargain; he moved Guilleret away from the Prison to a safe location, he restored Guilleret's connection to the Warp and gave him eternal life. For a few seconds the Psyker got everything he wanted... and then Tzeentch changed the unnamed parameters. Guilleret was moved few miles south of the Prison compound, the connection to the Warp was dependent on Guilleret possessing other Psykers and the Psyker was an incorporeal entity, incapable of interacting in any way with the world around him.
The irony of the event did not passed unseen by Guilleret. Driven by revenge, he possessed the bodies of anyone with event the tiniest traces of Psychic Potential and murdered everyone in the planet. Then a Warp Storm isolated the planet, trapping the Psyker within. For centuries he remained there, trapped in the isolation of an incorporeal form. Tortured by visions of life on other places, of lost loves and ragging wars. Condemned to eternal torture... alone in the dark.
That was until the Administratum sent a vessel to rehabilitate the Prison Planet after the Warp Storms had cleared. Guilleret took possession of the Navigator's mind and body, murdering everyone on the Expedition before leaving his Prison. Wanting a taste of life, Guilleret wanders the galaxy possessing suitable vessels and selling his services as a Rogue Psyker to anyone willing to satisfy the man's insatiable lusts! Thanks for the inspiration

| Mord, your text is great! Not only it gets what I wanted to say but it also has much more flavor than the previous!
About the model, I magnetized it to the base so people would stop dropping it down. Also, did some highlights with turquoise to get a nice range of green.
All I need now is to paint another one just like this one and create my special little rule to go with the model.
