| Note this is a modeling class so I basically just threw a few colors on there so you could tell the diffrence between parts. Also this is only my 2nd 3d class. | |

No, not really, its pretty good already. I know it's 'only' modeling, but you could try using a different type of 'material' for some of your colors. Make the barrel and clip a reflective material for instance (like Phong), to make it pop a bit more. Later you could do all kinds of cool stuff with normal and reflective maps to make it extra detailed, but this model itself is an excellent starting point.

| Here is the final scene not totally finished but should be done in tonight. I need to add some detail stuff to the table maybe a few clips and a ammo box or some shells. My area light outside the window is screwing with my lighting on the front of the guncase too any idea of how to only light the image plane in the background prius? | |

| To be honest, its a long time since I touched a piece of 3D software, so I'm a bit rusty, especial with the terms. But if you only want to light the plane with the space texture, I suggest picking another type of light, like a spotlight and just point that at the plane. In a static scene if you point it right no one will see the difference.
Also, the gun looks quite small, probably because the table is quite big. Might I suggest making the gun larger, maybe even large enough to hang over the edges somewhat (make the table a little smaller) to suggest largess and heaviness. A spare clip and some bullets (shouldn't be to hard to make) might also fill up the table a little more. Purely as a cosmetic suggestion I suggest you make the table a reflective metal, not to much, bet enough to get a slight reflection. I really like the guncase window, its a nice design.
I don't know how advanced you are with it, but you could try a subtle normalmap on the walls, a 'pixelated/static' (really don't remember the terms here) would give your wall a rougher look.
Hmm, as an added thought, you could make the table look more sturdy by making it a table with 4 legs instead of one, suggesting it has to carry more weight.
This actually makes me want to climb back into Maya myself....
{edit} just noticed, the guns isn't casting any shadows, which makes it look detached from the whole. Make sure you have 'cast shadows' on on all lights. Also, the outside light might work beter if it was a blue tinged one if it shines inside, like the blue in the picture of the planet.

And yet your next two posts are filled with pointers. Vast improvements, Dysturbed. Very sweet!

| Those pointers where for the scene, not the actual model But yeah, vast improvement, I especially like the bullets, with the dual colors. I don't really see what you mean with 'messing with the lights' though. what is the intended lighting effect you are trying to achieve? (oh, and just one more thing to nitpick on the slider and burst selector on the weapon look a bit weird in their whiteness, you might want to make those a bit darker.) | |

| I'm trying to get a blue glow from the planet to show on the side of the window and if it comes through get a little on the light housing
They are pretty much chrome and in strait on high lighting. I thought about after I do final render going in and adding a light burst in Photoshop to really show that in the final render.

| Time to start collecting source art for the armory pages, lol. I'm game to expand my portfolio with the armory as well as soon as i get better at texturing this stuff.
