This looks very, very cool (I believe that GW have allowed it (but it remains unofficial) - due to the high quality of the animation work - It seems to beat Ultramarines anyway!). Due some time in 2013.

Took me a little while to find the trailer, so here it is...
This thing is AMAZING! It makes the Ultra Marines movie look like it was digitally made by a drunken 4 year old (wait... I think it was!) I'm glad GW approved it, so the guys can work in peace. That IS the kind of quality that you need to bring 40k to the masses... Oscar-Winning-Type design, with a story to match. I think that if they make a 15 mins movie, they should 'attach' it as a featurette at the END of a block-buster summer action/war movie... make people stay (watch the credits) and then enjoy a similar something very different, yet on a similar genera.

Ok, something that I don't understand...
How can this be SOOOOO MUCH BETTER than Utramarines, without the finances and manpower the ultramarines movie had?
That does not make sense... at all...
This looks like the movie utramarines should have been, awesome.

Um i think the answer to that lies in supperior software to render and create the project. And talent and passion to make it better.
I think you can polish a turd as much as you want with fancy maya and mental ray rendering but in the end if you don't have the talent and passion to make a good looking movie you will still smell the turd underneath.
Take deathsquads for example. We have talent and passion to create a good game with 0 budget. GW has unlimited budget and makes kill teams ... point taken?

The guys has a passion that is OBVIOUS when you look at the work. Just look at the FINGERS on the Inquisitor... you can see all the gears moving! Amazing!

Amazing stuff - very interested in this. Games Workshop should bring this into the 'official zone'.

I still can't believe how much Ultramarines sucked. Especially compared to this.

HAHAHHA! You are right Arachas!
If I were GW, I talked to this guy and build HIM a digital movie studio (a.k.a. rent a small place for 2 years, 4 great PCs and OK salaries for him and 3 animators), commission four 30 mins short movies and let him loose. Then release 2 movies in a DVD per year, sell it cheap (it is great advertisement). At the end, you still have a small studio within GW, but they are free to be creative.
Imagine if you release a Limited Edition Dark Angels Command Squad box for $50 that contains parts to make 5 multi-part plastic Space Marines (just like now, nut new bits to make different Veteran Sergeant, Company Champion, Apothecary, Standard Bearer, etc.) with an extra sprue of DA bitz AND a DVD with TWO Dark Angels movies? Hell... I buy it just for the movies!
