| Holy Crap, Batman! It is another miniature game at Kickstarter. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/kings-of-war?ref=live Batman says, "Robin, you are correct. There are too many choices and this is is designed by Written by Alessio Cavator, a former GW Employee and game designer." Guess what? C'mon guess. They have freakin zombies!!!!!!!! I am going to get into so much trouble with my wife as this will be four back projects. | |

| its not something that grabs my attention for these reasons:
1] its a pre-order set up [more obvious then other Kickstart pre-orders. at least they were subtle.] 2] the game has been out for awhile [I know my email has planty of msg's regarding this game] 3] really $5,000 goal what are they trying to say... 4] I can tell he used to work for GW 5] no stretch goals 6] HEAPS and HEAPS of Additional things you can BUY!!!!!
its nice looking but come on......
LGW

| They've got stretch goals - but they are hidden in the updates section - currently $65K and you'll get an electronic copy of the supplement... Kings and Legends, which is a little underwhelming (I want models and more models, plus a limited extra model or two - a few close ups of the quality would be nice too).
Warhammer Fantasy (sorry Kings of War in this case), doesn't do much for me. Except of course provide a cool resource of conversion bits at the minute (The chaos lord on chimera would make a great 40k chaos marine/sorcerer lord for example)
I'd possibly go in for this if they offered better stretch goals. but, I'm all about the skirmish games/board games at the minute. Now, if GW wanted to kiskstart their specialist games range...

| even if they offered better stretch goals I'd still wouldn't consider it. As like Laney mentioned its not a skirmish game or board game.
I have moved away from the Large scale game [Like most of the GW games are nowadays]
as for GW doing KS on their specialist games I'd pass. There are plenty of rule sets or systems or even minis that are way better then those games. [Even though I would say I'd prefer to play any or ALL of the Specialist games before I'd even touch WHFB or WH40k]
Cheers LGW

| KoW has never appealed to me. It is a Warhammer Fantasy-like game... I'm not into Fantasy. The game has been out for OVER a year. I got a copy of those 'electronic rules' somewhere on my Archive drives. When they release the Sci-Fi version (Ver-Myns!) I may be interested.
The fact that they are ridding Kickstarter to grab pre-orders is cool and all... but not my cup of tea. I rather take REAL start-ups and help them. Zombicide? They brought it to Adepticon for final play-test and they asked people if they should try to get money using Kickstarter. Sedition Wars? They guys were running the gaming circle promoting the upcoming game 45 days before Kickstarter (along with other CMoN games).

| I'm a bit of a mantic fan but I couldn't see myself buying into this, I think the drive behind this was to expand their range with new sets people had been requesting but they don't really interest me. If you pledge $100 plus it's a much better deal than at the lower levels but they do have better deals on their site, the crazy bag in particular was much better value. As a side note for a scifi skirmish/board games have you seen project pandora? | |

| Sorry Kiwi but my response to Project Pandora is MEH! its just Starship troopers meets Space Skaven on a Spacehulk board. whilst the likes of Sedition Wars comes across completely different not once have I compared that game to Spacehulk. LGW | |

| Your right, there are no goals or stretch goals. They are just selling the product.
It is great they are getting sales but I thought Kickstarter was for something different. Oh well.
Like others noted, I hope they do come out with the space adventure with Skaven things.

| I would agree with LGW... Space Hulk is fun, but is is naturally unbalance. Mechanically speaking, each Scenario is 'one sided' either the Terminator or the Genestealers win easily, but the fluff in engaging. Project Pandora feels kindda similar, without the fluff. I could be wrong.
Sedition Wars feels different. The board is 'open' so you can screw yourself (or another ally) is you move to the wrong space AND the fact that the 'dead' can come back to kill you... WOW!
As DaBank said (or implied) I think these guys missed the boat on Kickstarter. This is a great medium to push a new section or expansion. The 'contributions' are just pre-sales. So, you want an Orc Army, you pre-buy it and you are done. With other real upcoming ventures, surpassing the goal means that the 'impossible' things could be achieved. Take for example Zombicide. I imagine the guys saying during the design discussions (half drunk) "Man, how could would be to have Chuck Norris fighting zombies!" Everyone laughs... "WAIT! How about a Zombie Chuck?" They all laugh and dismiss the idea as 'cool, but not practical'. Then they reach their goal and can actually make the game. Eventually someone says "Guys, if we pick $10k more... we could actually make Chuck Norris and his zombie!" They make the math, and with $25k, everyone could get the model... so they make it a stretch goal of $40k... and now BOOM! Everyone goes crazy recruiting friends. They reach the goal (double of what they originally needed!) in 2 days.
What does KoW has to offer? For me? Nothing. A new model here and there? Meh.

| Meh.... When I first opened this topic I actually thought you had posted the wrong pic! I read your story and saw the word "zombies", so I looked again at the pic. "This is Warhammer Fantasy!" I thought, then after looking really close I noticed some difference in the models. I'm really not waiting for another Warhammer Fantasy though so not interested in this one... - Laney wrote:

Now that could be interesting!
