GW releases... Chaos Cultists

If you've noticed the 6th Edition boxed set release thread, you already know this. But it warrants its own thread. Games Workshop is releasing Chaos Cultist models! They're perfect for Death Squads, so be sure to keep an eye on eBay after the boxed set is released.

I will split a box with Dozer... he will get the Dark Angels and mini-rulebook, I will get my Chaos fix! I probably try to trick him into painting them along my Chaos Entities, which he still has for the last 18 months! Ohhh.... I will NEVER see my Cultists now!

Those Cultist are on my want list as well!

Are there two different sets?

I saw on a company's website from the UK they are taking preorders for the Limited Edition Set and "regular" edition but I don't see GW stating there will be two sets.

Any thoughts?

The Limited edition set of Dark Vengeance will be first released and it contains a limited edition Chaplain. After the limited editions have run out the normal set will be sold.

The limited edition (Dark Vengence) got the Chaplin (think thats what he is called).

I think when the limited edition is sold out, it will be the "normal" set. Dont know if it got a name.

Hmm methinks it's gonna be hard for me, because I really like the cultists for a squad, and my friend would love them for his Chaos Army... but he does not care for Dark Angels... So I'll just have to start up on a new army then... sigh...

I am thinking about holding off on buying the set as I just want the Cultist and purchase them on Ebay as Arachas noted. That was a good suggestion.

Man... autoguns, flamers, stubbers, pistols, various hand weapons. It's like GW read our rulebook and decided on this kit, JUST for us.

Absolutely - and these will be dirt cheap on ebay as separate units before you know it (plus a deathwing army will cost a pittance too).

Potentially even better is that these guys are unlkely to be available only through a boxset. As a horde type unit I reckon GW will release a cultists box set (with more options perhaps?) when the new chaos codex comes along.

Maybe that's wishlisting, but if they don't then there is still forgeworld for a bit of variety, I mean - add a FW command squad to that lot add you're good for a cultists and a renegade squad (of course you would have pick up the chosen too for the chaos marine and some of those plastic daemons for all your warp entities).

Gut feeling, but why shouldn't they? It can become one of their best sold boxed sets next to the skeleton boxed set. Who doesn't have a skellie box or 2 even though they aren't even playing undead. When we played Mordheim we've bought about 5 or so just for all the scenery filling.

I mean... if they package the SAME 20 Cultists with an extra sprue of chaos spikey bits for $30... they sell like hot-cakes! You imagine if they actually make a box where you could MAKE 20 Cultists (bits, not one mold models)?

The cultists are already on ebay (kind of advance order) as buy it now for £9.00 for 10! I'll be ordering 20 or so at that price.

As more become available the competition might push it down a bit too.

I really hope they put out a cultist box set too. The bits would be incredible. I really love that they are changing the aesthetic for chaos a bit. I like that the guns are a bit different and unique. I am excited to get my hands on the box set and do some serious conversions. Who needs stock models when you can convert them!

i would love for a box of cultists, but think if its gonna be made it will not be anytime soon, GW thinks that getting then in the starter set is enough, it promotes sales of the starter, knowing they will be sold on ebay.

Look at the island of dead, plastic swordmaster, only infanteri special choise not made a box of (white lions and pheonix guard, got later on) and skaven poisom wind thrower only available in the set.

I really hope im wrong and hoping for a cool box with new CSM codex.

Either way - we've got a cool set of models to base a squad on.

To save cash I am staying clear of the kickstarters and going for this stuff via ebay - then I'll follow the crowd and build a deathwing army when the dark angels codex appears (but they'll be blood angels of course!).

I hope ebay have the Chosen separately, so I can pick a chaos marine leader or two.

Looks like there is gonna be a box of (only) 10 cultiste, but with enougt bits to make all we all want

Only thing I didn't see was a power sword."
