Four starting squads for the 'Visitors' Campaign (I had a lovely story typed up - but lost it in a moment of madness - the cultists are currently being built from a Dark Vengeance base - so I may proxy in the first couple of games). The campaign will be slow going with the main players being visiting relations (namely my four brothers and my nephew - who is visiting at the minute). These aren't new squad lists, just gathered together into one place.


Squad 1: The Elites - Max officer numbers and high level of starting equipment (I added in the Hired Gun to provide an elite boost)...

Captain: Combat Knife, Power Sword, Las Pistol, Flak Jacket, Helmet, Frag Grenade 129
Lieutenant: Combat Knife, Sword, Las Pistol, Flak Jacket, Helmet 124
Lieutenant: Combat Knife, Lasgun, Flak Jacket, Helmet 108
Sergeant: Combat Knife, Lasgun, Flak Jacket, Helmet 102
Sergeant: Combat Knife, Lasgun, Flak Jacket, Helmet 102

Medic: Autopistol, Helmet 64
Heavy Weapon Specialist: Combat Knife, Flamer, Helmet 80

Kasrkin Sergeant Hired Gun: 39

Total: 748 credits (2 credits spare) 8 Fighters


Squad 2: The Horde of Whiteshields - Min officer numbers and basic starting equipment (The only high spend was on the captain to take advantage of the starting equipment rules)...

Captain: Combat Knife, Bolter, Flak Jacket, Helmet, Frag Grenade 110
Sergeant: Combat Knife, Autogun 58

Heavy Weapon Specialist: Combat Knife, Autopistol 51
Heavy Weapon Specialist: Combat Knife, Grenade Launcher, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade 59
Medic: Autopistol 47
Infantryman (x9 each placed in a separate recruit group): Autogun 47

Total: 748 credits (2 credits spare) 14 Fighters

There are some places where I would do a little different.

Squad 1: The Elites

I would make somethink like.

Captain: Power sword, Flak armor, Helmet, Autogun, Reflex scope. -134
Lieutenant: Flak armor, Head guard, autogun, club. -98
Lieutenant: Flak armor, Head guard, autogun, club. -98
Sergeant: Flak armor, Head guard, autogun, club. -92
Sergeant: Flak armor, Head guard, autogun, club. -92

Hired gun: -39
Medic: -32
HWS: Flamer -73

Total: 648

This gives a little ekstra credit to mess around with. With specialist like this, I think it is important that every member (officer) can shoot and fight in CC.

Squad 2: The Horde of Whiteshields

Dont got a lot to say, personaly I would try to get a few more officers.

Squad 3: Da Green Devils Kommandos v2.0

You are using a lot of credits on equipment, I would try to cut a few Blastas and get a few more henchmen.

Only comment is, try to change Sneakt boss and kommandos blasta for shooters, gonna make them worth a lot more.

Squad 4: Chaos Cultists

If tzeentch is your favorite chaos god or your want a psyker, then go for it. Otherwise tzeentch is not the most powerfull mark.
Next time im starting a Cultist squad im gonna start it like this.

CSM: Bolter (free), MoN, club
As. Champ: Flak armor, head guard, club
As. Champ: Flak armor, head guard, club
Chosen: MoK, Flak armor, head guard, club
Chosen: MoK Flak armor, head guard, club

2 x Annihilator: Flamer
5 x Cultist: club

I got 55 credit left over, buying either, for the As. Champs autoguns or Mark of Slaanesh or 2 ekstra cultists w. clubs.

hope this helps and might get you to look at it a little different Very Happy -if not, it might help others...

Cheers Gents,

The info on the specialists is useful, but I think I'd rather go for being really good at one thing rather than them being jack-of-all-trades types.

The horde is one that needs to play out over a campaign, one game won't tell us much (time to get started I suppose!).

The orks are trying to be specialist - I will look at shootas for the kommandos though (6 credits spare now).

The Chaos Cultists was simply a colour choice - in fact my wife made it. The Mark of Nurgle would be my default choice - but others have done it and a Tzeentch squad (5+ invulnerable and a sorcerous leader isn't too shabby though and the daemons are pretty cool for later) seems to be something a bit different.

Minor changes to the Elites and the Chaos Cultists...

Elites - Captain has swapped in a bolter and reflex scope

Chaos Cultists - CSM MoT + Sorcerer, Asp Champ MoK, Asp Champ MoS.

I find it hard to advise on the Elite and Whiteshields, becourse you set the "rules" for few models vs. horde.

Normaly i would divide it in: heavy shooting vs. close combat or a balance between.
Personally, i dont like to play with a elite (few members), so find it hard to advice on them.

But im glad i could help, if only a little Very Happy
