| Mantic has a pretty cool looking Kickstarter called Deadzone. It looks a like a Necromunda/DS type skirmish game. The models look alright. My main interests in it is that is is played on a 2x2' table (I think) and that is has an awesome looking scenery set. Mantic Deadzone Kickstarter The enforcers The plague The cool Necromunda style scenery. Lots of potentially cool stuff in this one. I have no experience with mantic models. Would be cool if they released the vermyn (or whatever they are called) with this set too. Thoughts? | |

| I'm very intrigued by this. The $150 but in nets you a group of each if the factions and sone scenery.
It's also the only recent game I've heard of that totes a campaign style character advancement.
Especially interesting since the secret weapon tablescapes is a bit out my price range at the moment and ending in a couple days.

| The board will expand to 4 x 4 for those who like it. Forge Fathers (Squats or Space Dwarves) are coming out of this as is Vermynn...aka SKaven. Pretty cool. Jack Thorton is the designer and he was the White Dwarf Editor and director for Specialist Games (Mordheim, Necromunda, GorkaMorka, Inquistor and etc) for a while at Games-Workshop. He has extensive background besides what else he has done for other companies and Mantic. I am reading the rules...this is difference but interesting. | |

| Da Bank-I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about your thoughts on the rules.
I have to say, I like the look of this game and the scenery. My concern is always being able to find people to consistently play a niche game with. The kickstarters have nice perks but I think I will just wait and see how the game pans out before making that initial outlay. If someone locally wants to play I will take the plunge and play some games. For now though, I see little reason why I would play this (a new skirmish game) over a more established skirmish game with a fan base already (like Infinity).
I do like the terrain though... But $100 is too rich for my blood. That is about the same cost as the horribly overpriced out of print Necromunda bulkheads.

| @Narcissus I am going over the rules myself and I have being chatting with Jake Thorton on the rules. I have been connected with him since Mordheim. But am not saying we are best friends or real chatty but have talked via email over the years. I made a board last night, well 4 x 2. The gaming approach is unconventional but it looks like it may take out some of the disagreements in gaming, which is his main idea and focus besides making a skirmish game that is not like the rest. You are trying, finding people is a problem with any game let alone a new one. I hear you there. On terrain, I am finding the pricing more agreeable over the last few days. My first thought was, "are you nuts" but now after see a few minis and there is nothing else really like it and is plastic. there are a myriad of ways you can create buildings and structures. | |

| Are the structures very useful from a playability standpoint? The configurations they have are just two flat boxes and a tall, narrow box. The look nice, but I am not sure if they are as versatile as the necromunda sets. They also recommend gluing them, so their modularity is only in play when you are initially building it. | |

| Yes, their scenery can be used for many games, necromunda included. It seems you can glue them or "clip' them. It remains to be seen how the clipping works as everything they have shown has been glued. I like the scenery and might be getting some. | |

| I'm in for the strike team pledge currently and the scenery looks really interesting. As they add more battlezones I think the scenery will really come into its own, plus you can get the Antenociti detail add-ons. I think that a Landing Zone, a Fortification (once unlocked) and maybe one detail pack, plus the terrain pack from Sedition Wars should be enough for a well packed table. Plus, that gaming mat looks very nice indeed. Now if they would let me trade in the Marauders factions for another set of enforcers I'd be really happy! I'm also in for the robotech kickstarter - anyone else interested? Cheers Laney | |

| The scenery on this one is indeed awesome! Can't wait to read some user reviews on it. | |

| Yup, scenery is awesome. I am thinking of backing out of strike force, keeping me my scenery and buying a batch or two of the enforcers, I am not found of the other races (though the Forge Fathers) look tempting and might the Vermynn whenever they roll them out. | |

| This Kickstarter is a funny one. I want to back it and the scenery is definitely a big draw, along with the mass of models, but I find myself underwhelmed despite the mass of plastic (a bit like dreadball). I hope it picks up. Robotech and All quiet on the Martian Front are more interesting to me at the minute. Still time for it to be awesome (not dropping my pledge yet!) Laney | |

| What do you (everyone) think of the models themselves? I am not too into the mantic models.
For those who have received mantic models, how are they to paint and build? What is the material? How is the quality?

| I love those Enforcer models, whoa.
So any rules in this game that we might be able to adapt for use in DS?

| I've not looked at the rules (though it may have some nice campaign elements we could steal) - I was just after a wealth of useful shiny stuff for DS (and if it turned out to be a good game in its own right then that's a bonus). Laney | |

| There are no campaign rules yet, but they are the works. The game is in an Alpha staged and at the moment is set up for 2 x 2 but will expand out to 4 x 4. There will be campaign and ways for models "grow or level" up, unlike other games out there. As rhuntar noted there could be some aspects that could be viewed to see if it or something like it could fit. Need more playtesting to see if they or something like them would work. | |

| I watched the beta rules video (part 1). It only goes over a few of the basics, but it had a nice flow to it. I found myself translating the rules into death squads and the activation made for some interesting tactical play. Plus, even in that short segment I could see how the stories from a Deathsquads game would work (the long range shot that killed the 3rd gen plague model, the desperate close combat in the middle of the board etc). The deal with strike team ($150) is now pretty awesome. I'm also going in for an enforcer bundle when it opens up and I might add $50 of terrain too. My only regret is I had to pull my All Quiet on the Martian Front pledge to pay for it! (spent too much on Robotech last month as it is!) Cheers Laney:D | |

| After all of the online disappointment with Sedition Wars rules I've told myself that I will be waiting to see how a game fares before investing in it, even if it is a good deal. The terrain really intrigues me though. | |

| I think Sedition Wars may still come up good in the end (I am an eternal optimist!) The good thing about sedition wars is that the models will be compatible with this game (and vice versa). Enforcers = Vanguard, Plague = Strain, Rebs = Firebrand (no Marauders equivalent - but that's an ork squad in the making). The gameplay so far looks nice, but I'm after the models. It isn't that I need more - but they are very shiny! The scenery will go quite a way to filling a death squads board with a few add ons and with the scenery pack from sedition wars on its way I may finally get my modular 'spaceship corridors' board. (the landing pad and fortification battlezones will make for an interesting mix). Laney | |
