| I'm excited to get started on my prisoner for this prisoner exchange. I am not quite sure what direction to take at the moment. I have started building a small display plinth for my model. Doesn't look like much now but hopefully it will work out well in the end. I am planning to make the base a cobblestone street. For this model I think I will do a slightly converted chaos cultist model. The focus will be more on the painting than on the conversion though. I am a bit limited in my bits and supplies at the moment as I am in the middle of moving and lots of things are still in boxes (not moving into the new place until next month). | |

| The base looks pretty awesome so far! Love the concept, and can't wait to see where you go with this.
And I like the idea of limiting yourself to whats in your bits box. I may do the same...

| I have so many extra models and bits that I definitely should just build with what I have got.
Is it bad if I just do a stock model? I usually don't but I really love the stock model for the heavy flamer as it is.
I guess I could sculpt a little flame coming out of the flamer...

| Its not a bad thing! Some of the stock minis, inc. The chaos cultist with flamer from the DV boxset, are some of the best models GW have sculpted. It'd be good to see what you can do with it! | |

| An update on the base work. Use my press mold to make the grey bricks. Here is a post from my blog on how I did the brick work: Brick Tutorial. | |

| Good looking base. I think going stock is no bad thing (I'd probably end up with more finished models if I did that!). To echo Matt's comments - the DV heavy flamer is a really good model and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

| The base looks impressive! Note to self, spend time reading up on that brick tutorial...
Matt
PS - I'm pretty certain I've said it before, but having just had a look at your tutorial on your blog, I'm always impressed. Still love those shipping containers!

| Looking great so far! Great entries like this make me feel a bit sorry that I didn't have the time to join this exchange. | |

| Here are some pics of the prisoner mudboy. Only conversion is I shortened the barrel of the flamer. I'm making a flame to come out of the barrel for some object source lighting. I glued clump foliage to the paper clip Then covered it in white glue to harden it. | |

| Simple but very effective conversion. Gives him a more brutal look. Interesting aproach to the flames. Cant wait to see the end result. | |

| I agree with mudboy - the conversion is simple, but looks excellent - I may needs to grab a couple of these guys off ebay to try it out. Cheers Laney | |

| Laney-they are very nice models. Simple but well proportioned and with lots of nice raised detail. I really need to just sit down and bang out this model. | |

| It looks really nice. I've done some bricks myself, with inspiration from "pappa smurf" over at Miniwargaming.
Really like the minis from that set too - got lots of'em, and are waiting for time to get them painted.
*sigh* I miss you guys...
