| Hi Gents... The premise of this group was to create a unique stormtrooper team, drawn from specialists. This is the stormtrooper equivalent to a deathwatch kill team... All of them are at least stormtrooper sergeant (even the yet to be started medic). It will max out at around 10 models - I'm up to seven in progress, with one more in the mix. The basis is SM scout snipers, regular cadian box and whatever is in my bits box (seriously depleted at the minute!). I also thought I would try a couple of females (using the Sedition Wars heads) - I've made them physically smaller than the men, by using scout legs for the men and regular guard legs for the women. Greenstuff is going to be much used and I'm including a few more helmeted heads than I usually would. Backpacks are an issue at the minute, due to a lack of voxcaster packs, I need to improvise a little bit! Left to do... Medic, Shotgun guy and Special weapon No.3! No time for pics at the minute - more later - sorry! Laney | |

| Ok... A little more GS added and the first pictures of the squad medic... George 'Harmless' Carter, multiple medals and purity seals for bravery under fire while with the doomed 21st Argoian Regiment, before being field promoted to the 5th Stormtrooper Battalion - Damoclean Regiment 'Death rains down'. The whole finished squad so far - all 7 of them... Front and back - these guys have access to bespoke weaponry and kit - so I wanted a non-standard look. The Captain (no name yet)... The Female hellgunner (no name yet)... The Skull trooper (no name yet)... And George 'Harmless' Carter... (arms to follow) Cheers Laney | |

| Love that your females don't have their girls hanging out... hmmm... I do like when they hang out, but it makes no sense if you need to protect your chest with body armor. Now you will have to paint them pink, so idiots like me know they are girls. | |

| Thanks Gents! @Stryke; I might do another female sniper (with ghillie suit). I need to get hold of a shotgun from somewhere now. Victoria Miniatures are doing some 'Arcadian' female IG, which are coming out soon. I'm also looking forward to the Raging Heroes (Kickstarter) Jailbirds and Iron Empire models I've got coming in a while (lots of female IG Models - Yeah!) - they are a touch more cheesecake, but I might add my own armour. | Wow! You're on a roll man! You keep popping out cool models like a madman! Love 'em! Curious how'd they look with paint on. I like the one with the Necron head, reminds me of an idea I once had but never did build because I don't have Necron bitz. | |

| You know, I keep hearing folk complaining about the current IG guardmen, how they're not really that convertable. And yet, every time Laney posts something, it's proof that all it takes is a little imagination and some skill! Amazing work - Look forward to seeing more! | |

| As always - thanks guys! The kits may be old - they are really generic - so for me a good base for conversions and greenstuff helps that along (it's mostly basic GS work - just a couple of the black colour shapers you can buy and sharp exacto blade to trim the shapes). I'd still love more varied bits though (the chimera driver helmet is very cool and some different poses). Particularly, as I am almost Space marine intolerant these days! Paint next (maybe - I just seem to love grey plastic! ). It may need to wait though - I'm in the middle of a two-day interview process (main interview tomorrow!). I've also ordered a few bits to round out the squad... Maxmini space police helmets Maxmini backpacks (always a good buy) FW recon shotgun FW elysian meltagun I may add a few more bits to finish these guys. @Gatlag: If you want a few Necron bits just send me your address - happy to help a fellow converter! I've got most bits from the deathmark sprues still (heads both types, different weapons etc). Cheers Laney | |

| For myself? Anything IG and interesting (command squad bits and voxcasters/backpacks etc) - regular human sized. I've had 1 day already - two of us left now for two jobs (my boss said - make the grade and get the job! - Easy! ). Cheers Laney | |

| Well... I got the new job! Yeah! And I've celebrated by finishing my medic... Parts: Scout legs and rope/pouches/backpack, scout biker head (they are much better than the regular scout head range), cadian torso (much GS'd), Medic arm and flamer arm from the command squad box, two autocannon ammo boxes for the medipack, forgeworld recon shotgun (very nice, if pricey , extra). Next step meltagunner and sniper maybe? (To bring the squad to 10). Waiting on several cool bits to arrive. Comments always welcome Now I'm done with him he reminds me of the pilot mini from the old Battle for Macragge box set (I quite like that). Laney | |

| The pose is really nice, and I'm digging the way the scout legs work with the cadian torsos! Something I may have to look into at some point.
I don't suppose you could do a couple of tutorials on how you do greenstuff sculpting? As someone who struggles, it would be good to pick up a few tips.
And congratulations on getting the job!

| Thanks as always gents! Helps keep me motivated - I might even get the paints out over the weekend! I got some shiny things delivered today. Some Leman Russ and Chimera driver parts, which will be superb for conversions and even better than that Maxmini sent me some space police helmets and backpacks (I've wanted them for ages) - the helmets in particular are amazing sculpts and very clean resin bits. I've also ordered some bionic arms and sniper scopes from zealot miniatures (not arrived yet). Ta Laney | |

| Ok, found that one of my models had been mysteriously decapitated by a U.F.O! (launched by my youngest). I haven't located the head (fortunately, the others in the kill team survived the attack)... Anyway a head swap was needed - using the maxmini space police ones. I've also added a meltagunner to the squad (up to 9 now)... I'll consider a little GS tutorial if that helps - I'm no expert - I remember Narcissus being pretty darn good. Cheers Laney | |

| I'm on something of a roll, so here is the 10th member of the team. Adeptus Arbites Sniper (seconded from the Capital Hiveworld of the Pharean Sector: Judge Solomon Dravid)... This is a simple conversion - but one of my favourites so far! I am probably going to convert the other sniper rifle into a hellgun. Don't worry about the little spots of yellow on the knee and hand - that has cured (it was my old GS supply). Some GS advice from a fellow novice... Just for reference - these are the greenstuff shaping tools I tend to use. The exacto blade and the two clay/colour shapers (extra firm) on the left of the blade are the ones I tend to use most often (the other two have been wrecked by super glue and I need a new set). I have metal tools as well but never use them though a needle/pin is useful for small indents. The colour shapers need less water (and less frequent wetting) than metal tools, if the stickiness of GS is irritating you a) Give the mixture 10 minutes to cure before shaping and use Vaseline (but clean off when cured!). The other thing is patience - don't try to layer fresh GS over still curing GS it will wreck the whole thing! Cheers Laney | |

| Absolute quality work my friend. Get some paint on them!!
It just shows that if you take a bit of time considering the position of your model it makes all the difference. I can just imagine this guy stalking his prey, waiting for the perfect shot, and all that captured from some through the positioning of the parts.
I need a sniper for my squad next. To finish them off!

| Ok a little update... Arbites Sniper (with a little paint) A couple more squad members... The bionics are from zealot miniatures (nicely detailed, but the open hand is fragile) One of my favourite miniatures recently... Hellgunner... Should the guy with the sword have a ranged weapon? | Good job on the models as always. the guy with the sword has a great pose. maybe a slung rifle of some sort? or a holstered weapon? that would look cool. | |
