Hello here is my second battle report, Eldar vs Sneaky Orcs
Scenario, Occupy; (four different building objectives)
SETUPOrcs (Mordoten) First to go, Eldar (me) second.
The sneaky orcs incorporated a sneaky boss and three kommandoz so I was looking at a close game, not sure if I could hold it but I'll die trying
I had an idea that I should try and not separate my forces too much so I could get maximum firepower at one point. Good idea but...
My exodites deployed far to the upper left, out of sight ... alone, a stupid mistake...TURN 1The Orcs realized that there are enemies ahead and make a true orcish "run for it!" My Eldar answers the charge with a moderate advance to cover and fires away but they only manage to stun one stupid orc so the future don't look so bright. (the exodites does a "heroic" move to kill two lonesome orcs but misses all shots)
Ors kill score: 0 Eldar: 0
TURN 2The lonesome exodites faces a charge by two 'ard boys but one is going to stop short prolonging his life for a turn or two. The kommandoz move in charge range, threatening my core but it is a risky move. The eldar must have forgotten to pray to the dicelords as 9 shots and one psychic attack results in a stunned and a perils of the warp
Orcs kill score: 1 exodite Eldar: 0
The true sneaky boss checks line of sight (we haven't really seattled for which squad to start so some beastmen cameos as kommandos)TURN 3The charges begin. In an attempt to show off the sneaky boss tries to make a diving charge at my warlock, something he now regrets
Two kommandos close in while the third one gets up from being stunned. A little late the stupid orcs realized that they lacked closecombat weapons, hehe. The laugh is not long-lived as my warriors gets beaten by unarmed orcs
The Oc boss tries to outmanoeuvre my force but a guardian moves out in the open and shoots the bastard down with a well placed critical.
Orc kill score: 1 Exodite; Eldar: 1 Orc boss
dakka, dakka, dakka or whatever the sound the shuriken makes
TURN 4The Orcs who is not already in close combat moves in to the middle. The Kommandos are now fighting bare knuckles with two aspirants and my leader and is winning. (Note to self: got to look up fist fights) Most of my "free" warriors lack targets due to my bad tactical decisions or to the bad dice rolls
Orc kill score: 1 guardian, 1 Aspirant Eldar: 0
My Striking scorpion finishes of the sneaky boss who jumped deep into the ground.TURN 5-8With the eldar only rolling ones the battle report fades out...
CONCLUSIONThe Eldar might have suffered a defeat but I have some suspicions about cheating that I will bring up to my defence if my opponent starts to brag too much
Defeat again!! Have we learnt anything?
Shuriken is good but Toughness 4 is better or am I only bitter
Need to check out the close combat rules regarding unarmed, we employed a -1 to strength.
Also why is the orcs unarmed? Even the sometimes whimpy elves have a knife...
Need to look closer into the psychic powers, right now the chances of perils and success is almost as big...
We tried out the postgame sequence this time and it looks good so far, got about 80 credits and no real injury so I'll invest in some catapults:rifle:
High initiative is very good in close combat unless you only roll ones...
We both had fun and it was a fairly quick game and I blame me loosing on bad dice so until next time
