| Right! Almost finished painting my first batch. I'm pretty proud of them. They just need some more highlighting on the cloth and a couple of details here and there (eyes, plasma gun). Note the stubble I gave a couple of them: I really like the unshaven look! Enjoy! Edit: Man, these pics suck, haha. I'll try and make some better ones, soon. (:

| They suck!
Nah, you know I love ya. I actually really like them, and knowing you they will get pupils (cause now they look like zombie guard). I absolutly love the tiny map, with the grid on it and a road or river or something. The basing works really well as well.
As for the pictures, they are a bit over exposed/over lighted. It might be easier to controll this by shooting them (in the face...no wait...ehm) with artificial light. That makes it easier to control.

| Love the guy with the bionic arm and the front armour. Loads of cool details, the unshaven faces, the weapons - but the bit that caught my eye was the map/data slate that one of the guys is carrying - excellent. Cheers Laney | |

| Arachas! Awesome paintjob. It is great fun playing against you with actually painted models. I do not remember one game we played in which that happened before. I trust the paint is fire proof? Keep it up baby!
"Mad Sparrows"? Crazy as a bat I say!
I'll be seeing you soon my apprentice.

| Excellent overall look - nice subtle conversions (e.g. the ammo packs on locke). Colour scheme is ace. Keep them going in the campaign they deserve the opportunity to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Emperor! Keep them coming (eyes really improve the look ) Laney | |

| Pics for the faithful commentors! Making some EL-E-VA-TION! for my gaming table. @Kiwi: Dark Flesh, Dwarf Flesh + Bestial Brown, Dwarf Flesh, Elf Flesh, Chestnut Ink, touch up with Elf Flesh. The '5 o'clock shadow' is Codex Grey + Catachan Green. This is why the models take so long, I am far too picky. I've tried going for less perfectionism, but I find I simply enjoy painting my models as best I can! Thanks for the compliments, though. (: | |

| Whoa, even if I did have those paints I would take forever and would probably muck it up. Catachan green+ codex grey? I would never have guessed looks fantastic. The building looks great how are you planning on painting it? | |

The building looks great how are you planning on painting it? The funny part is that I stumbled upon this mix by accident. I was actually contemplating painting my Guard in sort of a 'Feldgrau' theme, a la WW2 Germans. So I Googled for ways to mix a color like that. It didn't work and I ended up buying Vallejo Feldgrau. But on one forum a guy said, in comment to the above mentioned mix: "I bet that would look good for stubble." So I thought: what the hell, let's try it. And there you go! LOL @ the spraypainting comments. My friend Toyama actually made a cave that way: added layers of styrofoam on top of each other, then burned in a hole with regular GW spraypaint. Nah, I'll just grab my tankbrush and do it manually. I'm planning on adding all kinds of details, first. Not to mention sand and debris. It will be a long time before I finish this baby, I think. Lovely project for when I don't feel like painting or converting mini's. Thanks a bunch for the cool comments, guys! I really appreciate them! My wife always says: "I totally get you painting and playing with those mini's... but why take pictures and post them on a forum?" BECAUSE those guys are so encouraging, WOMAN! Hehe...

| Arachas you have some great ideas that I must steal! Very nice work on the skin tones - I'm going to try that mix - the last guardsmen I did looked awful (I'm blaming the flash for most of it though). And their will definitely be a few stubbly guardsmen joining the Varangians. As for the building - top notch - the more layers the better! Cool Thread - keep it up Laney | |
