| I need you opinion about my first two squads, these are for single missions because I don't have anyone to play with. My friend I play with lives in other town and we can play maybe once a month. So, primary for single missions IG (Cadian): Captain --> Boltgun, Flak armour = 81 pts Liutenant x2 --> Lasgun = 142 pts Sergenat x2 --> Shotgun = 122 pts HWS grenade --> Grenade launcher, frag = 59 pts HWS flamer --> Flamer = 63 pts Infantryman x 6 --> autogun = 282 pts SUM: 749 pts Eldar: Dire avenger exarch - sacred armour, sword, shuriken pistol - 113 Dire avenger aspect warrior - shuriken pistol, sword - 99 Howling banshee warr asp. - sword, shuriken pistol, banshee mask - 115 Striking scorpion warr.asp. - chain sword, shuriken pistol - 100 Exodites x2 - lasguns - 134 Guardian x3 - shuriken cannon - 187 SUM - 748 Of course, I am one of those who like to play WYSIWYG I still have a box of Kroots I have to make a squad of and some orks, who are already painted but I need to convert them to squad, to calculate points. | |

| Both look like solid squads to start with. The Guardians have catapults right? Even on a single game - I'd probably max out on officers (but that's just me) Laney | |

| Sharukien Catapults are not avaliable options for starting recruits. TLRB Vol.3 Pg 6 - Quote :
- During the initial Squad Setup (before starting the campaign), Recuits cannot be given any Rare Items neither from common stash nor by any officer.
Sharukien Catapults are Rare 5 My suggestion is drop all the guardians and max out your officers and buy another Ranger or two and put lasguns on those. Especially if it's just a single game this gives all your recruits infiltrate. (note Ranger we changed it in 0.6.0 from exodite) Also the chainsword is Rare 7 in the eldar depot. Officers are only allowed to take up to Rare 5 at squad setup. Also from pg6 of Vol 3 - Quote :
- "Officers and Recuits may buy any weapon, armor or wargear availiable on their squads depot. You may buy Rare Items that have a rarity value of 5 or less when stating a squad."
(yes I notice that it says recruits there also which I'm going to post in the developer room to fix) You may wanna check your guard's rarity too. I don't know the squad well enough to tell you offhand, and im too lazy too look it up after retyping all that up there.

| @Dysturbed, hmm, I didn't noticed that part of not giving rare 5 to recruits, damn! I was trying to make a squad correspondig to wh40k background, after all they're dieing race and they would not send a guardians to the battle only with pistols. For the chain sword, ok, agree, I'll change that but for a guardians, hmm, I will see, as said, it's only single games so...I'll leave it that way but for a campaign I'll use squad stricly by the book As for exodites, I agree, infiltrate from the begining but, maybe that's just me, I like to play game, not to win it imediatly And, of course, I don't have rangers and, for now, it's to much work to convert 5 rangers, for 2 I can find time @laney, As said, I tried to make a squad by the wh40k background and death squads rules Guardians are only for cover fire, officers are main attack force Damn, I like that shuriken weapons btw. thank you for helping me and for a great game | |

| No problem man. You know you don't have to convert the mini's just to play. Hell i used the green army men that a buddy of mines kids where going to throw away. He had green ones and brown ones. I used the brown ones for officers and the green ones for recruits. Just had to keep track of which was which. course being they wheren't based it kinda made measuring a thing of a pain in the ass.
But none the less if you don't have something get creative!

But none the less if you don't have something get creative! I understand that but, I'm primary in this because of hobby I was thinking few times to start an army but...the problem was I like a miniatures of different armies I got 12 or so painted eldar guardians, a box of unpainted dire avengers and lots of bits so, for me, is logical move to make an WYSIWYG squad, as I said, hobbyst I would probably already play few battles but my friend, with whom I play Space Hulk, is in different city and, becouse of his job - he is a protestant pastor, we can't play often. People in my town are not interested in anything, especialy miniature wargaming, and, sometime, I think that they're not even interested in living Hehe, when I was a kid, some 20 years ago, we played wargames with a 1/72 soldiers and various custom terrains matchboxes, glasses, stones from the garden DAmn, those were the days looks that, our kind of people, just refuse to grow old btw. here is a link on my gallery on facebook, hope that noone's gonna hack my profile https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=175617&id=586728412&l=c440fb9fa7

| Even if you play only a single game a month, I'd still go for a campaign set-up. Heck, I think I barely make two games a month. | |

| Nice paint jobs. I would agree with Arachas, do a campaign. I only play about 1 game every other month. It is a campaign, a slow going one, but fun watching the squad evolve. | |
