| Love those old school models (takes me back to my own rogue trader days - my parents threw out all my old models - I'm not quite sure I ever forgave them properly! ) - a death squad based around them would be very cool! I know the sculpts aren't as detailed, but it adds real variety to a somewhat bland line (unless you pay the extortionate FW prices). Nice collection - some interesting conversions in there. | I have the Captain with a power fist I was trying to figure out what weapon to use in his left hand so I went to my good ole bit box I looked a lot of weapons then I came upon a power fist! I had to cut of his shoulder and file it down smooth and it fit like he was made for it! Then I used a steel plate I had left over from my Terminators to put on the power fist! He had some type of staff weapon for his right hand the tip was cut off so I do not know what it was! So I cut it off and replaced it with a bolt pistol! I got them on E-Bay for a good price $! But it was missing arms so I could not complete four minis.

| Hmmm... LOVE IT! Make sure to 'curve' the text so it matches the ribbon (specially bottom). Also... you plan to add an aquila or any other imperial symbol? | |

| I've made something like that some time ago for my Guard Company, for use in a cityfight, to place hanging on the buildings I captured. What are you going to use yours for? (and what Mordheimer said, make sure the words match the curvature of the ribbon) | |

| Nice one! It's hard to design banners for squads/companies/regiments/whatever (or at least in my experience) so thumbs up! I would like to recommend you one cosmetic improvement (as Mord already mentioned the curved text(s)). Avoid using italics! (you can find this advice in every Graphics 101 ) Even when you ask our dear wikipedia you get this: - "Italics are the print equivalent of underlining" It's used for emphasising something or distinguishing some name in text. Anyways GOOD JOB!!! | |

| Thanks for the advice! This is the first one so there are going to be some changes to it! Plus I posted it to get some feed back from everyone!
Thanks! | |

| Devo88... there were 5 threads about the 77th Imperial Rifles, so I merged them all into one. Easier to keep track. So... are the new pics here? I can't find them. | |

| OK... I fixed the thread... now makes sense. The models look like a good WiP. I suggest a wash with Devlan Mud (brown) to bring the details in the uniforms and flesh, as well as give them a more 3-D look. Try it on one model. I think you like it! | |

| Thanks again, Mord I tried to put them in order but! Thats why you are the KING Delven mud, huh! I will try it, I did dip them into black wash but they still came out with a shine to them, and also it was a sunny day here in Arizona that! Dude thanks for everything! I could see some of them need some touch up! I am working on Fire Lions now! And another project! Sisters of Battle "Sisters of the Yellow rose" Thinking of a Penal Legion? Hmmmmmm! | |

| Well, it depends on the Wash you use. I like to use washes and inks, but sometimes the model ends up shinny, like you mentioned. Few tricks I learned: * Use brown, rather than blank. The brown tends to be more 'gentle' on flesh (shades of brown) and on camouflage clothing. The blank tends to make the model look like it just the soldier was a chimney sweep... * A final drybrush (very dry brush) helps to remove the shine. I did this on my Orks.... goblin green base, then green wash... they look great, but shiny like they had just been swimming in snot. Thus a drybrysh with scorpion green (the one that looks fluorescent!) not only reduce the shine BUT highlights the top of the muscles. * If all else fails... seal them with Flat Finish. That will take the shine away. Experiment first. Can't wait to see some pics of the models. | |
