| Da Green Devil Kommandos (One of our squads for the Varangia Campaign) Shank Riprot was a young ork from a minor sub-clan of the Kunnin' Blood Axes called the Da Green Devils. When he sprouted from a spore on the once paradise world of Vagbadd (Imperial Designation: Paragon VII Ref. M4162AEI). Two things struck the warbosses of the Waaagh! that had ravaged the planet and threatened nearby imperial systems... He had very dark and mottled skin (Is almos' da Morks camo on dis uns skin!), indicating he was blessed by Mork, yet he seemed a bit 'weedy' by orkish standards. The young Shank showed he had a particularly 'Morkish' mind (Imperial Ref Ork235HD43 OrdoXenos: Morkish: To be cunning and unlike most ork 'boyz'). Shank was a master of 'Da boot in ur jubblies' and 'Da cutta's smile'. He constantly made up for his physical weakness with rapid reflexes, earning him the derisive nickname Mork's Grot. Then the Imperium stepped in and changed everything... Inquisitor Lord Felix Nemeia of the Ordo Xenos ordered the Death World of Paragon VII (Redesignated: Parasiticus II) to undergo exterminatus viral bombing with life eater type virus bombs. In the thousands of years since the virus bombs had been created the mutating influences of the Warp had changed their purpose and the one that killed millions of orks around the Shanks hovel had a different effect on his physiology, Mork blessing him with a tumour growth on his brain, stimulating unparalleled physical growth and twisting his mind towards even more Kunnin' ways. Shank wandered the devoured, desolate world coming across a few more of Morks Blessed, including a young painboy called Dok Hak Stitchflesh who removed the tumour from the young nobs brain. Continuing on his journey to the nearest spaceport of Nu Ork Nu Ork, he also came across a wandering weirdboy, Magbad MorWaagh who claimed that 'E is da blessed of Mork, 'E is da kunninest' and a vicious sneaky boss called Snaga Skarfang, who added his Kommandos to the warband. In a dream Mork spoke to him... 'U gotta get off dis planet' and so in a heavily modified Kill Kroozer 'Da Umie Deff' Kaptin Riprot and his warband headed out, pointing the Kroozer in the direction of the Hiveworld of Varangia, a place where destinies and Waaagh! would be forged. Da Green Devils Kommandos Kommando Kaptin Shank RipRot Ard Boy Skumgrim Grotshak Ard Boy Ursk Mekstuf Weirdboy Magbad Morwaagh Sneaky Boss Snaga Skarfang Painboy Dok Hak Stitchflesh Kommando Oggor Urtyshank Kommando Kunnin' Dave Gretchin Dripsnot Gretchin Dreg Gretchin Og Bag Gretchin Lil' Rippa These pictures are Shank RipRot (with the twin axes and beret - which will be in the British Parachute Regiments colours - my local garrison) and Snaga skarfang. The rucksacks are mostly greystuff, with a few extras. Enjoy Laney | |

| OK... uhhmmm.. I can't make up my mind. Which one is cooler, the fluff or the models!!! HURRAY! Yours will be a great campaign!!!
The fluff and background is FANTASTIC! I was draw to it really quickly... and it is amazing! Now imagine, that if you are victorious on your campaign, the young Shank RipRot will become a powerful Nob... eventually a greater Boss and ultimately and unstoppable Warboss! Now when you play your Orks in 40k, you will have great stories about your Green Devils!
BRAVO!!! | |

| Here is the full starting squad modelled for the Green Devils (the grots are before and after pictures - showing them upgraded to Powa Suts - space wolves, ultramarines and dark angels - will be the final colours). I've included separate shots of the weirdboy (based on a badly painted nob from the black reach set) and the painboy - mostly modelled from the plastic nob set. The whole squad was built from the plastic nob set, a couple of black reach orks (one of the kommandos isn't quite finished) and grots and runtherds. I did want to include the Boss Snikrot model - but I'm already up to my spending budget for March - and the Blood Angels are coming soon! The pigtails on the weirdboy are intentional by the way - I thought he might look good in something pink - any thoughts? I'm going to paint up the leader, painboy and sneaky boss and then finish off the varangians. There is also some modelling of imperial renegades to be done Cheers Laney | |

| Da Kaptin Shank RipRot (This guy took me ages - I'm now going to spend some time on the Varangians) - finished modelling the starting squads for ImpRens, Eldar, Orks and Imperial (just gots loads to paint before the Blood Angels arrive - no chance!) Mordheimer I've taken your advice on the less is more front with the object source lighting only around his glowing left eye - quite pleased with the result. The camo is meant to look a little more 'homemade' than the imperial guards. I also didn't use any brass metallics on him - so no verdigris (blue/green corrosion) type weathering (which games workshop have gone mad with on their new killa kans/deff dreds - have to admit they do look good though). Enjoy Always love feedback Laney | |

| I... am... speechless. Model is FANTASTIC!!! The details... the base... the beret... the nap-sack (HEY!!! It is small... but a couple of stuffed gretichins make it comfortable!)... the bionic-feeding tube! The model looks VERY good (such an understatement!), even at such close range, which is VERY difficult, as details on a shaky hand tend to be magnified. You have some skills man!!! I want to be very critical... but I find nothing. This is a model that any Ork player would be go crazy to have! Hopefully the Kaptain will survive a long campaign a become a Warlord... he certainly looks the part! | |

| VERY COOL! The metal work on the Kaptin tuned out ESPECIALLY WELL. I'm not REALLY all that big a fan of 40K, BUT I LOVE the Orks & Grots... what's not to love about Orks with machine guns. GREAT STUFF! VERY WELL DONE! | |

| The grots have all got their own arms, but have scavenged various power armour bits from their enemies to make Powa Suts. I'll get them painted when I can find my stuff (boxes, boxes everywhere and no painting kit in sight! ) Cheers Laney | |

| I did undercoat them all and you've got the little power armoured grot (he got wings!). Apart from that - nothing on the Orks.
Maybe next year! | |
