| Well back to the world of Warhammer 40k, fresh ideas and a new squad. I went for imperial guard. The thinking behind these guys was to keep it simple, ease myself back into it. Nothing to complicated so I can focus on a decent paint job, simple conversion work, all to get a squad on the table quickly! (also using these guys as a small 40k force) An 8 man squad with each soldier having a role to play reminiscent to a modern military squad, a captain, lieutenant and the rest grunts with a job, medic. communications, rifleman and a support gun team to lay down the suppressing fire so far its just an auto cannon team, but i think it could work on the battlefield with one member acting as a spotter, with a double line of sight. if the gunner dies just replace the unit with a single guardsman model with standard issue equipment. That's my theory anyway. This guy will be one of the officers Communications: Medic: Grunt: Support unit: Still in the process of adding some more interesting features and details to the models but here is what i have so far. Like I said, these guys are being kept simple, gonna write up some back story to the unit. Give each guy a name, make it more personal. Let me know what you guys think. | |

| Looking good so far! I'd only make the medic stand out more as a medic. Painting his helmet white or so could easily do the job. | |

| Looking good. I love it when IG squads get names. My whole army of grunts have names! The posing on the comms guy is really good in particular. One thing: The camo might pop a little more with tiny spots of either dark or light version of the colours already used to pull it all together. Cheers Laney | |

| Ok guys, well spurred on by writing a short chapter about these guys in the squad background section I painted my ass off today. Let me know what you think. He never asked to be captain. Roderick Tairyn, He is still in the works with regards to paint, he is almost there though. I quite like his posing. Up next is The Old timer, Lieutenant Valmer: Lucius Fedt, The communications expert: The Medic, Romeo Stover, He is a lover not a fighter. Next up the heavy squad, Mantus, Heavy weapons specialist. He has lost his hearing over the years, the only way Crowe can communicate to him is to scream and smack his helmet. Hence why they are always together. Rass the green rookie. Still not used to orbital deployment but a good man to have at your back. "they aint payin us enough for this man!" the catch phrase of Mehler. Aaaaaaand as if there wasn't enough photos here is a group shot. Let me know what you think. | |

| Real depth to the green and khaki/bone coloured uniforms and the faces (I hate painting skin) - These guys are looing really good! Keep it up. Some mud or water on that heavy weapon base would look cool too. Laney | |

| Nice work - snipers are always cool! The depth you've got on the green looks especially good and the lenses are really well done. Is that a little OSL I see on the plasma pistol as well? How about a group shot to see how these guys go together? Watch those mould lines though (there is always one that gets through). Cheers Laney | |

| Cheers Laney I did try my hand at some osl, I wasn't feeling too confident with it though or I would of done more! the mould lines are a pain, I never noticed that one until I uploaded the picture! I love how much detail you can work in with these small squads, you could never do that on a huge army and its a shame! Lets see your guys painted next, maybe they will fight shoulder to shoulder one day! | |
