| Haha. My local games workshop is doing a competiton that if you buy 1000 points of units, paint, build them, play them, and win with them, you can get a raffle ticket for each task.
End of the month, a winner is drawn from the local group. Gets 1000 points of free stuff. So this would be my list. I talked to the manager today, and he said its all fine with him, and this would be by far one of the most interesting lists that hes seen.

| That sounds cool, keep us posted.
Isn't there something with an IQ army that you can use those in the retinue to suck up wounds?

| Yeah. The Acolyte, but point wise, im stuck. I had to kill the retinue for an extra evicerator, so i could get a bit more tank killing power. | |

| Hi,
Looks good overall. Just a suggestion on finding some extra tank killing power and giving you an acolyte. I would swap the vindicare (a beautiful as the model is) for an eversor assassin. First, he's a close combat demon on the charge, he can infiltrate, carries melta bombs to pop tanks (he'll take out land raiders with ease if placed well - and opponents at 100 points will have difficulty screening him out), gets extra range on his charge (better check the codex on that one - its from memory) and comes in at 95 points - so you have some spare for the acolyte. And he scares the life out of opponents.
The vindicare by comparison is more fluffy (and has cool model), I grant you (and in the new codex is sure to be super awesome cheese), but at a higher cost 110 you have less tank killiness, he can only use those speciality rounds once each and I've found it takes two, three, or even four rounds to kill off an HQ choice worth equivalent points. He doesn't stand up to similar ranged units e.g. a squad of sternguard. The main problem is his rate of fire is too low to be effective compared to the damage his shots actually do.
One other thing - are you sure about the price on henchmen? (it might have changed on the pdf compared to the paper codex - but it seems a little low cost).
Cheers Laney

| I have a copy of the paper, or my print edition has acolyte's at 8. Familiar is 6, Sage and Warrior 10, Chirugen 12, Pentinent 7.
Hmmm. I'll take a look at the Eversor. Maybe i'll model one of each, to interchange based on the army. I'll have a few extra guys to make in the boxes I get. Fluff wise, i MUST make a Vindicare :p

| On your HQ you've got: 3 henchmen (6 points) Cyber hound familiar.I'm guessing that's a typo and you didn't want the 3 in there, then it's all good. On the fluff - the Vindicare is a great concept - I have all four assassin types in my daemonhunters army and choose dependent on the opponent force (when I know that is). They are all scary (the least useful being the anti psyker - I forget the name). | |

| haha. yeah. I forgot to reupdate my list, with the changes I made today.
But now that thats taken care of, I can agree about the anti psyker being the least attractive to me.
Although, i'm confused how the Needle Pistol of the Eversor works on vehicles. My dex says it has a D6 AP role on vehicles.....I dont get how this correlates to anything

| On the Eversor - fast shot rule no longer applies (due to old edition rules) and I think you can safely ignore the armour penetration of the needle pistol against vehicles (its the melta bombs, plus infiltrate, plus combat drugs that make him ace. The vindicare does get the turbo penetrator round (but only one - not much use against an IG steel legion type army). The neuro gauntlet also gives you some bite against high toughness creatures in cc - just don't put him up against genestealers! I love the rest of the army, look forward to seeing how it turns out either way! Cheers Laney | |

| List is updated.
Update wise, i killed half the Drop Team, got rid of the repentia, and used the points to upgrade my Lord, get me a canoness, and flesh out some of my other units.
Please re-read the whole thing, and let me know.
As far as the Assassin goes, I'm sticking with the Sniper for now. Simply because, I'm going to be facing numerous types of armies with this ist that I must turn in, and hes more adaptable me thinks.

| I like the upgrades you've given to the Inquisitor Lord - he's much more likely to survive now. The weapon selection on the stormtroopers and battle sisters is very fluffy, but I'm not sure how you are going to get close enough to use them, with all those shotguns and meltas and bolters. If you run in, you might just get shot up by an army like IG or tau. I would suggest dropping the canoness and possibly scratching around for some points elsewhere to get a couple of transports in the list to get these guys safely into combat (using them as rolling cover rather a transport).
I love the use of the penitent engine and the retribution squad will mash up infantry armies, plus you've got a good range of anti tank ability (certainly enough for a 1000 points - no necron phalanx in this game)

| Well I plan for an almost exclusive city fight/heavy scenery list. More or less, hopefully i can use cover effectievely enough to buy me time to avoid heavy weaponry. My GW shop is having a contest that If i can buy, build, paint, play, and win a 1000 point list by the end of the month i get a raffle ticket for each task. one person is drawn winning another free 1000 points. Transports and vehicles are the first things im getting | |
