The Black Crusade's version of Bad Company Empty
PostSubject: The Black Crusade's version of Bad Company   The Black Crusade's version of Bad Company I_icon_minitimeMon Jan 21, 2013 2:29 pm

So I'm going to be playing a Tzeentch Cult in an upcoming campaign and since my minis are still a week away I'm working on their fluff in the mean time. Thoughts/Ideas/Criticism is always welcome.

The overall theme for my cult is going to be that the officers are all going to be colossal screw ups, they have all at some point failed epicly in their missions at some point in the past. This warband is their last chance to win back favor of the top brass of the Black Crusade.

Fearless Leader
The CSM is a former spy/sleeper agent. He was groomed since birth by an Imperial Tzeentch cult to infiltrate a chapter of space marines and corrupt its geneseed stock slowly over time. He was selected passed all the tests and managed to conceal his psyker powers. Over the next 200 years he played imperial hero as an apothecary for his unit. He was making a name for himself among the leadership and there were whispers he was a lock for the position of Master Apothecary (for some reason strange mutations had been accuring with the new recruits). It was the perfect Just as Planned moment. So what happened?

200 hundred years of fighting, healing, and watching battle brothers die reared its ugly head. On a mission to stop a rampaging horde of Orks it became apparent no one was going to survive. As he watched his unit about to die the part of his persona that would do anything to protect his unit took control. As the orks swarmed in for the kill, he dropped all his dark sorcerous powers on the approaching horde. Even going so far as to unleash a lesser daemon on them. The day was saved!

His captain who he had known since joining the chapter gave him a head start. That was all he needed. He traveled to the Eye to join the Crusade.
But Tzeentch and the Brass are not very forgiving. Though powerful and true to the cause of Chaos he completely FUBARed his last big mission. To save space marines...

Now he has to prove himself, if he can turn a squad of F### ups into an effective combat unit he will be redeemed and allowed to join a traitor legion.

The recruits I chose for the war band and going to be ungors. While not screw ups in and of themselves they are a pack of savage, backwards, smelly, disgusting goat-men from the Eye. Basically viewed by the more respected members of the Black Crusade as nothing but dumb animals good for nothing but fodder. This also helps to reinforce the idea that the CSM is being punished for his FAIL.

THE TRUE BELIEVER (A.Champ w/ MoT)
The human who started the cult and converted the tribe of ungors into Tzaangors. Possibly the most mutated being in the entire grim, dark future, because he is a true believer and one of the most honest/innocent/naive people you will ever meet. A missionary type who has unwavering faith that Tzeentch will change the universe into a paradise. You can't keep this guy down. Has an amazing ability to delude/deceive himself when doing anything morally questionable. Believes Tzeentch speaks to him and is guiding his destiny. Which is true , sometimes the God of Liars just wants to talk to an honest person. Lots of faith almost no ambition and imagination (but will slaughter children if T commands it and sleep like a baby afterward).

THE LIAR (A.Champ w/ MoT)
The human who was leading the cult, until CSM showed up. A born survivor which is good because he was born in the Eye of Terror. Career psychotic criminal/conman who doesn't believe in anything. Conned TB into turning leadership of the cult over to him by faking faith, because he wanted a group of idiot minions to do his bidding. Brilliant at tactics and logistics but also a lazy, self-serving coward. His Mark was really more of a curse, he promised one of T's favorite cultists the world and now he has to deliver.

That's the the basic concept so far.

I like you fluff so far! Are you going to build the leader as an apothecary model with some chaos side effects? Very Happy

Yup my original plan was to add some chaosy bits to a space marine apothecary for my csm. Then I made the mistake of looking at the CSM mini options which has: Ahriman, Fabius Bile, and chaos sorcerers (i like the 2 w/ swords).

Now i'm having a problem making a decision, and its getting worse because today I checked the GW website and found this guy lurking in the fantasy section:

Fluff be Damned! That is an awesome mini!
