| I accepted long ago that I have a terminal case of ADD with intermittent bouts of apathy which Ive learned to deal with by keeping at least 5 or so projects around my work area. This at least lets me work on something...which means I make progress on something...which means I may eventually finish something . My buddy Steve and I started this building oh I dont know...about 2 years ago. I got it back from him today as he has decided to switch to 15mm Sci Fi except for maybe a couple of warbands. I also picked up those two tables I made in the other thread to fix up the little wear and tear on them. All in all though the have held out like champs so that shouldnt take to long. Anyway here is the building Im working on. I plan to add some more rubble, debris, interior items, and finish the 2nd floor in the main and rear part of the structure. Im also tinkering with differnet ideas for a roof or at least a partial roof.

| Awesome modelling - even unfinished. What are the base models for this - they look a little too chunky for GW (quite like pegasus - but with extra bits). The scale is very imposing - just what you'd expect from the gothic architecture of the Imperium. I also like the way it is mostly intact, rather than a couple of ends of a building. Laney | |

| What Laney said. Where did you get the base stuff from? I totally want it. The tiles, the walls... omg! | |

| Have to say having 5 projects next too each other doesn't seem like ADD / ADHD to me, as it is what I've always done. Rather it seems like a sensible way of dealing with the fact that it can be very difficult to focus on the same thing for several hours a day, several hours a week, several weeks a month, etc. I'm impressed with the size of your work area - I'm stuck on the corner of a poky kitchen table and would love to have the space you do. Consider yourself lucky! As for the terrain, I think you've done a great job and I'd be tempted to leave the base level relatively clear so that you can move models around freely and staying in keeping with how intact the building looks. The details like the bullets holes give it added depth which would only be increased with some extra things, like static grass weeds or wash-varnish puddles. Great work, very inspiring! I'm curious as to why you decided on the urban terrain? | |

| VERY IMPRESSIVE LOOKING! If you're going to do a city, BIG is the way to go. That will definitely be the centerpiece of any gaming table it's put on.

Who says its the centerpiece Deaf Laney the base models are indeed Pegasus kits plus whatever we grabbed out of the bits box and some wood. If I remember right this is about 2 or 2 and half boxes worth of sections. I agree that leaving the buildings (at least outer structure) mostly intact is the better way to go. I get kind of tired of always seeing little corners. Jammy the extra debris and rubble will take into account gaming and model placement (Ive learned that one the hard way). My buddy Steve I built it with is always in a rush to getthings on the table which is OK but I like to have a more detailed view. There will be plenty of details to give it more depth as well. Im still tinkering around with how to do a good looking roof. Oh and that is my kitchen table. Im good about picking up for guests and stuff so I get to keep it... | |

| Sorry to hear you are in the same kitchen table situation , it tends to restrict me to a single cutting mat of space which limits my project scale somewhat. Hopefully my next move will correct that problem! I'm afraid I don't have any clever ideas to help with the roof - the sheer surface is going to be a little bit of a problem. Maybe having the roof bombed out would work? It would also mean you could glue it in place and still have a playable piece. Glad to hear you've already been planning ahead on the rubble front - it seems to me a lot of people don't give it enough consideration before they lather it on. | |

| I'd leave the roof off, maybe leave only a couple of remnants here and there. Improves playability and usually looks ace. | |

| Its GW's wrecked rhino kit. Just assembled straight out of the box with only some minor green stuff to fill gaps around the trees and in the rhino. Im not quite sure what you mean about the paint job though...its not prepainted or anything if thats what youre asking. I painted it over a few nights. | |

| @Gatlag: Im reworking the building slightly to add some 2nd floor and roof sections to make it alittle more usuable as wll as alittle more rubble. Its slow going because I tend to grab whatever is at hand that interests me when Im not focused on a single project (which is most of the time ) @Laney and Arachas: What do you want to know? Ill try and explain it. In the future Ill try and keep my camera at the work station and take WIP pics. Thanks for the comments guys. | |

| I'm really interested in the methods you use for weathering and the blending techniques (not to mention the highlighting!). Cheers Laney | |

| also love the weathering on the Rhino Doom, really realistic effects. do/did you use weathering powders or paint only ? | |

| Weathering techniques included paints, stains, powders/ pigments, and colored pencil for chipping. I also tend to use different mediums (matt, glazing, texture, and gloss primarily) when painting to achieve various results. | |

| As I scrolled down through the concept/inspiration pics it took me one or two pics to realize that I had reached & passed into the model photos...you're new stuff is THAT GOOD. Since I'm working on a spooky woods of my own, I'll be following your developments with keen interest & a touch of larceny. | |
