| VERY WELL DONE! The Deathwatch Guy's power sword is EXCEPTIONALLY nice. I LOVE the way the Inquisitorial Mutant turned out...cool bit of conversion. The base for the Valkerie though is my favorite. | |

| Top work! Both of the minis are just amazing - the ghoul in particular is pretty much perfect (but the freehand on the deathwatch marines shin is awesome too - very precise). How did you achieve the dusty effect on the statue. Very impressed and you must share more (I demand it!) Laney | |

| DIABLOS!!! I'm hypersensitive to well crafted models today (all Laney's fault!) and your models are AWESOME! The power Sword is VERY well done. Amazing blending control... I wish I had 1/100th of your ability. The gem effects and the freehand writing is SPECTACULAR! The model is... PERFECT! The terrain is fabulous! The weathering and dust effect (on the Valkyrie's base) is super-realistic. I may send my :ninjas: to your place and 'appropriate' some models. Get ready! ehehehe. Definitely... thanks for sharing! Amazing work! | |

+1 That marine looks AWESOME!!! Though the bolter isn't really my taste. I know Deathwatch cowboys use special gear but to me, it just looks weird More photo's of your cool models! | |

| Thanks for the comments all. Ill try and put together a small tutorial when I get a chance. I also have plans to make another few True scales so Ill take WIP pics as I go. However this was the first one I made and it was most definantly a learning experience. When I make more there are a few things Id do differnently. For now Id suggest looking through the various threads on Dakka or Ammobunker by Doghouse, Migs, Hits the Spot, and a few others. Hands down IMHO is Master of the Forges marines ( http://masteroftheforge.com/ ) . He also has some tutorials on his site that Id check out. They have all perfected the process and do amazing work. Here is one more pic to get an idea how big he really is: @ Mudboy- I had a hard time finding a suitable bolter. I didnt want to use a standard bolter as the DW all use modified M41s in the fluff. The ones that come with the Deathwatch bits sprue look way to small on this guy. So after fiddling around in my bits box I made this one to represent the M41 with the integral silencer talked about in the old DW fluff. @Laney- The statue was pretty straight forward. I used succesively lighter shades of bronze and grass to work up to a nice shiney finish. Then i used some my own weathering mixes I made. When dry I did some more highlighting and used standard GW washes to pinline some areas. The tarnishing effect was done with Valleijo VerdiGris (First time I used this product- It is great but takes alittle getting used to its properties. Its kind of like a really thisk glaze but I think produces a great tanish effect. I tired before using inks and paints but it always seeemd to turn out to green or blue for me.) Final was to touch up some areas with a Bronze silver mix lightly drybrushed. Currently working on some Inquisition lackeys, a few renegades, and a guy inspired by the Malatek Stalker in the DH Radicals handbook. When I get a chance Ill try and take pics and post them here. Even though I dont do RPGs the Dark Heresy (Inc. Rogue Trader and Deathwatch)books have some kick ass fluff and artwork, If you get a chance check them out they are an incredible resource of ideas. | |

| For those interested in True scale marines Id check out this thread linky linky. The plan is to eventually have Chapterhouse release kits containing parts to more easily make true scale marines when the sculpter is done making setails on the blanks. The kits will contain Torso, legs, shoulder pads, and backpacks (enough for approximately 6 marines). | |

| Excellent work throughout - very inspiring! The metallics on the models are great and there is real depth with the highlighting/shading. The enforcer is an amazing piece - my brain was telling me it was all forgeworld, until I looked a little deeper at the parts, some catachan, WoC, strange backpack etc. Is the chest piece from a chaos marine? You've totally captured the essence of the enforcer and even as a WIP, it is top notch! Keep them coming - no excuses for being slow! Laney | |

| VERY COOL...sinister & with an eerie strangeness appropriate for 40K. The metallic hand on the Tech Servitor is really BEAUTIFULLY done. FINE WORK! | |

| Each of the models you have posted are really great pieces of work - you should be really proud of what you produce it is definitely in the top 5% of gamers! I would love to be able to produce even the single piece of this quality (it'd still be an improvement on my current output, ha ) The blending on your metals is brilliant and still within the realms of standard painting techniques (love NMM but does tend to be over-used at the moment). The free-hand 'Mortis' decoration is amazing work, as is the subtle depth of the Churigeon's smoke-stack. I really like the Enforcer because it is such a blend of different parts into a cohesive final product which is characterful and solidly in-character. As for the Malatek (what is this?) I personally really like two specific things, the right arm (based on a power fist?) and the backpack / shoulder pads (which I'd love a closer look at). Thank you so much for sharing. | |

| Thanks all. I prefer to use metallics over NMM for the simple reason that to me when done really well models with NMM only look good from a couple of angles (with the exception of a few items like swords and blades). From any other vantage point even if they are beautifully done they appear wrong or off IMHO. Metallics may not look as pretty but always look right no matter the angle to me. The Mortis scroll started life as an ancient GW (probably from the late 90s) decal that I was able to salveage most of. Time has not been good to the sheet it was on. Then I painted out the rest of the scroll. Using extremely thinned down paints I did the shading followed by a couple highlights. The last is to use black to touch up the writing and define the scroll. I like items such as decal that help me speed up the process but in this case it probably would have been quicker to do it free hand by the time I was done with the softerners, sealing, and touch up process The right arm is off of an old chaos lord. The left is an ancient (Im old) ork power fist from around 2nd edition. Ill get closer pics when he is done for you. THe Maltek Stalker is a character class from the Dark Heresy RPG. Basically its a warp powered cyborg used by the Dark Mechanicus. Kind of like a product improved super Skitaari for the bad guys (and some wayward =][= types). I dont do the RPG thing but the FFG books have some of the coolest fluff and artwork for any 40k product in along time. Lots of ideas in there for modelling and gaming. If you havent checked them out they are definantly worth a peek. | |
