| Ive always used miniatures from various manufacturers as I needed. With the exceptions of tourney and such why not? There are quite a few out there and many come and go. As in the bits thread I thought I would start with a few companies and expand on it as I get time. Pig Iron Miniatures Pig Iron has a large and growing range of 28mm Sci Fi models (Great Guard and Renegade substitutes) System Troopers- Would be good as Storm Troopers or as a base for Arbities Kolony Militia- Good Guard Substitutes Ferals= Could make good renegades or as scavies Troll Forged Minis Troll forged is a small business with a wide range of minis. They can be hit and miss as there are alot of various sculpters. They do have some good minis though and some up and coming ones look pretty cool Mutant Dregs- Multi Part Mutants. Could make some useful Renegades or Cultists. Multi pose is always a plus. Micro Art Studio Micro Art Studio has a large selection of bits and minis. There are some really gems in their lines. The Brotherhood of Steel is probably the best Not-Mechanicus minis available. Lead Adventure Miniatures Lead Adventure Miniatures makes a cool range of Post Apocalyptic minis that were originally sculpted by Ratnik in russia (Some cool Stalker minis). They would make good Guard or Renegade minis Ther are plenty of other manufacturers out there so Ill continue to update this thread as time permits. Cheers | |

| I just spotted these minis by MicroPanzer http://www.micropanzer.com/ : They're adding this new line of 32mm minis to their existing 15s. | |

Also check out mudboy's thread on this here. Extensive list! Damn my bad I didnt see that thread down in general interests. Maybe we could get a mod to merge the two threads and make it a sticky. Lots of useful info in the two for everyone. | |

| A great conversion basis for "not squats" would be the hammerfall high shields from Privateer press. They have a huge advantage in that they are in lots of parts (body, head, arms, back pack) which makes them very flexible HOWEVER the pouches all over their fronts do make for tricky posing (e.g. hard to hold weapons 2 handed). It can be done though if you clip / saw / file them off first and repair the strap with greenstuff... soon I will prove that Croes cut throats also from Privateer press would also make great conversion fodder, again in most cases seperate arms and heads really help them out. However they are closer th 32mm than GWs chunky 28s, so True scale marines are a must if you want to use them as cultists!! Want to theme you Cultists around Undead rather than Chaos but can't find any good looking models for undead guardsmen. A bit of work on This Privateer press unit (the Risen) would probably work well to represent some (undead) guardsmen from a number of units: Looking for some alternate greycoat guardsmen?, well then the Privateer unit "steelhead riflemen" might just be an interesting (but not cheap) alternative for you, i'm fairly sure many of those guns are separate pieces (check out the privateer press bit store to find out for sure). Want to model some eldar Exodites? How about Privateer's Retribution mage hunter strike force (not cheap though) Tanith Guardsmen Conversion fodder anyone? (Privateer Cygnar Rangers): | |
