I basically stopped playing 40k at the LGS because of codex creep and all of the over the top new things and how uber-competitive/no fluff so many of the people there became. Which is a shame because I have about 4000 points of space marines and a couple thousand points of nids. Now my personal gaming group (I mentioned them in a prior post with my first list) love playing <1000 point games (usually 500-600 points) and love playing Mordheim. Death Squads is going to be a wonderful addition to our group!
On a side note I think it is poor business practice for GWS to have stopped the support of the specialists games. In my gaming group we have at least one warband of every race for Mordheim, and I expect we will be doing the same with Death Squads. I am very much looking forward making squads of all of the different races that I otherwise would never have considered buying as I never planned on making army sized forces.

I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. Thank you to the creators of deathsquads. This is such a comprehensive project and creates such an interesting aspect of gaming in the 40k universe. Thanks!

I was having the same discussion yesterday with my buddy: it's a real shame they quit supporting Mordheim. It's one of their best games! They better quit with that LOTR shit and re release it. Thank god we have Death Squads now!

Wow... Uhhh.. Thanks! I feel just like you. I have 4,000 points of Necrons (totally nerfed!) and 6,000 of Nids.... and I won't play 40k. I mean, if I ever get black to play, it would be only with Dozer, DaBank (who don't play 40k but can push a 3k NON-MECHANIZED IG army!) and JD3... just for old good times sake.
Death Squads is OUR labor of love; from fans for fans. It is about all of us putting our efforts together. You guys bring stuff and ideas... and we organized them. As long as you guys are having fun, we are working on !
Now... where are my pictures of Squads?

Thanks guys - It's great to know how much your support what we are all trying to do.
And yes, there should be more love for specialist games. A Games 'Workshop' should be creative like they used to be in the old days, with excellent lines like Talisman (still going but not GW), all the Roleplay stuff (with Fantasy Flight - good that some companies have vision to keep this stuff going) etc.
Cheers Laney

Thanks for the positive feedback.
It had been an adventure to work on this project with everyone to date. It has taken a lot of work and many dedicated people who are here and not here to get to this point.
Thanks back to all you guys for playing the game and giving us suggestions on things to fix.
Here is some Death Squad trivia.
What was the original name of Death Squads?
What were the first two squads created for the rulebook?
What were the first two "squads" used for the very first game that spawned Death Squads?
What is Death Squads anniversary date?

Was the original name Mordheim or Necromunda? I always get them confused...

I recently reread your interview with tabletop geek, so me answering these would be spoiling the fun for the other members.
