I did take a few WIP shots this time...
This is my master. As you can probably tell, I ended up using different
shoulder pads on my paint test model, but these pics should give a
pretty good idea of component parts and green-stuff work.
So, I made up a mould and cast it up. This is my first real attempt at
casting, so I'm still learning from mistakes. All the green bits on the
cast-up miniature are where I've used green stuff to fill in gaps left
by air bubbles trapped in the mould.
This painting progress shot is the only picture I took without the arms
attached. It's a poor shot to show off the chest detail, but gives an
idea of what it looks like.
This painting progress shot shows a whole different iteration of the
shoulder guard design. On reflection, I think I like this design more.
My marble is just Dheneb Stone and White (I used Vallejo Dead White, but any white should do) with Chestnut ink veins. I find the ink works great for marbling because it gives a good inconsistent, translucent line.
