| After a disastrous match for my IG yesterday, I thought about a nice Eldar Here are my weired minds so far: Striking Scorpion Exarch 63 - Sword 18 - Shuriken Catapult 30 => 111 Dire Avenger Aspect Warrior 49 - Aspect Warrior Armor 20 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Catapult 30 - Avenger Sight 20 => 124 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Catapult 30 => 76 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Catapult 30 => 76 Warlock 57 - Spirit Matrix 8 - Laspistol 26 - Sword 18 => 109 2x Exodites (38) 76 - Lasgun (28) 56 => 132 Guardian 31 - Shuriken Catapult 30 => 61 689 Credits so far. Any comments on that? The Exarch will get ASAP Scorpions Claw, Mandiblaster, Chainsword and Aspect Warrior Heavy Armor because I want to use the model of Karandras. One of the Aspirant should develop into a Banshee the other into a second Dire Avenger or Striking Scorpion. Have to see how their Stats change with the first level-up. | If this is a starting squad the maximum rarity you can take on a starting squad is 5. (p. 62) The Shuriken Catapult is 6.
I'd take the Shuriken Pistols will free up some points anyhow. And replace the Laspistol with one of these too it's only 1 point. And adds +1 to str -1AP.
Also because you can't get the catapult ditch the guardian and take another exodite. They are more worthwhile in a starting squad.

| Dude, you are totally right. Just didn't saw it. Shame on me I started to wonder myself why Citizen Khaine didn't had any Shuriken Catapults at the start... Ok, changed the Catapults to Pistols and gave one Aspirant a sword. The Warlock will keep his Laspistol because I've got the old model with this pistol. Maybe he gets a Hot-Shot Pack later. Striking Scorpion Exarch 63 - Sword 18 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 108 Dire Avenger Aspect Warrior 49 - Aspect Warrior Armor 20 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Pistol 27 - Avenger Sight 20 => 121 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Sword 18 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 86 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Catapult 27 => 73 Warlock 57 - Spirit Matrix 8 - Laspistol 26 - Sword 18 => 109 3x Exodites (38) 114 - Lasgun (28) 84 => 198 695 Credits so far. | Nice build, quite similar to some of mine I assuming you will go CC with your exarch, seeing that helmet and heavy armour doing you good Now to my suggestions: Unless you really like the flails and swords I would really drop them from the start and try to get another warrior. To me 18 cred for a sword is just to much for what you get when you are starting a squad. All eldar starts with a knife, it will do. Remember you will be outnumbered anyway and that you will want to get to 10 warriors as soon as possible to avoid routing too soon. Exodites is fun and a good compliment, but no guardians? They will soon become killing machines with shuriken catapults so why not start with some? I try to get a nice mix, two of each. Also if you free up some creds from your swords grenades is fun... Concrete suggestion: drop Spirit matrix, 2 flails, 1 or 2 swords (if your model is cool drop the armour instead) , buy a guardian with a shuriken pistol. - Quote :
- Warrior Aspirant 41
- Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Catapult 27 => 73 he,he and revise this entry

| Thanks for the advice. I'll try it your way. The swords for the exarch and aspirant would be swapped ASAP for chain swords anyways. The sword of the warlock can be bought later. The flails will stick there because I will just test them. Striking Scorpion Exarch 63 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 90 Dire Avenger Aspect Warrior 49 - Aspect Warrior Armor 20 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Pistol 27 - Avenger Sight 20 => 121 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 67 Warrior Aspirant 41 - Flails&Chains 5 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 73 Warlock 57 - Spirit Matrix 8 - Laspistol 26 => 91 3x Exodites (38) 114 - Lasgun (28) 84 => 198 Guardian 31 - Shuriken Pistol 27 => 58 698 Credits Squad will be started as soon as I got some models at eBay 3 2 1 Thought of the day: Fear is the Mind Killer. | |

| why you wanna test chains & flails? aren´t they the same likes clubs but have the fumble special rule? and that for the same price. or am I missing something? but when you wanna test them you can play against my new catachans. most of the officers will be equipted with clubs. so we can see if flails or clubs will crunch more heads | |

| I think the difference is that you cannot parry with clubs, but flails cannot be parried | |

| ohh indeed. both have a combination of "impossible and parry" but with a different meaning. I think I´ll spend the rest of the day improving me reading skillz and hey... maybe i also test the flails with my catachans | |

| If there is a problem with wording, please post in different thread so I can tackle the issue... I tend to skip over Eldar posts... not a fairly lover myself. | |

| Chains & Flails can't be parried, but can fumble. Clubs can't parry. With the Parry Skill you can parry with Chains & Flails. But foremost I will just give my fairies no clubs. Chains & Flails seems more fitting. Thought of the day: Fear is the Mind Killer. | |
